Ethan's fortune : Some like it hot. Eat more Kung Pao.
I'm glad to be home! Kingwood looked kind of strange after being in the country for 5 days.
On another note...I really wasn't prepared to explain to Ethan "why grandma was in toybox". He was so sweet to my grandpa. We were sitting in a recliner next to my grandpa and Ethan leaned over on his own and asked him "You okay?" Made me cry.

after much frustration I founf that the data roaming opion was disabled on my phone. After correcting that I can actually get online. YEAH!! Grandpa is doing well. Much better than I expected. He went to the dr. Today and just has some meds to clear up his lungs. I guess the allergies coupled with grief and not eating really brought him down. He told my aunt he wasn't planning on going anywhere anytime soon :) I have to say the puppy that wondered up into their driveway lastyear with a can stuck on her head has been a blessing for him. Especially since they had two dogs die within the last year. Sunday (the dog) is his constant companion now.
I also want to say I am so happy and very thankful for my christian family. That's all I'll say on that. I am also thankful for my husband. He sure is a good guy. I sure miss him and Ethan. They returned home with my mom this morning...which is why I'm on here at this time of night. I'm out in the country in a house with a metal roof so talking on a cellphone inside the house is nearly impossible. I'm not brave enough to go outside by myself after dark here :) I don't think I would have made it in the 1800's!!! Hahaha
I'm sad about another death today. Evelyn Evans was the first person at Humble that Ethan laughed outloud at. He seemed to really like her a lot. Guess I better get some sleep. My cousins daughter is coming in the morning to help me clean Grandpa's kitchen. A teenager volunteering to help clean her Great-Grandfathers house during her spring break....refreshing.

I hate those "in the middle of the night calls". With Scott's mom's condition and my grandparents we expect it, but hope it doesn't happen. This time it was my mom calling. My grandmother, Martha Rice, passed away sometime during the night. Please pray for my grandfather, Charles Rice. They were married 67 years last December and for as long as I knew them were together what seemed like all the time. My dad was up for a visit to help with some work around the house so I'm glad he's there to be with my grandpa.
I guess we'll be heading up to East Texas in the next day or so. Pray for us to have a safe trip.

Just an update with a little of what's going on with us. Jamie and I are in Longview to see my dad's mother. She had been falling some and was taken to ER on Tuesday night. Found a tumor in her spine, so still in hospital awaiting possible surgery. At nearly 90 this is pretty risky, but is up to her to make decision. Without the surgery she will be paralyzed, with surgery possibly not, but not definite. Please keep her and my grandpa in your prayers. Charles and Martha Rice.
Last night was a particularly difficult 2 year old class for me. Ethan doesn't sit down. Sunday I took him out and spanked him, he sat down after that for a while. More like the norm I guess. Why in the world did I volunteer for that class? Next time I'm asking for Kindergarten or the 4&5's. Well, after we got home at 9pm he wanted a snack and asked for some cheese. I gave him the cheese and went upstairs to change. Scott was still downstairs. Next thing I hear is that cry that you KNOW something has happened. Then a long silence, then the BIG cry. Uh Oh! Well, 2 year old boy spinning around in living room + glider rocker do not mix. He fell and busted his eye on the rocker. So now it's our turn for the ER. 3 hours later....no stitches, no tape, no glue. He barely broke the skin, but BOY did it bleed! The funny thing was there was another little boy in the ER about the same age as Ethan. His mom and I started talking and discovered they were the same age, born just 4 days apart. Both were in for an eye injury...what a coincidence! Fortunately both were fine and were enjoying their $125.00 popsicles at midnight :)
Oh yeah...the funny thing about last night. We're on the way home from services - before the above happened. Well, we turn onto the service road and pass 1960. We passed up Ms. Hutson, and then this guy that Scott was thinking was in a hurry to pass him just hangs out next to us. So I look over and he's pointing at the car. Oh GREAT! Now what! So I turned around and behind Ethan's head I notice Scott's bible is on the trunk. NICE! So I waved and smiled (which was probably better than my initial face). Then of course there is no where to stop at that point. So Scott got out got his bible and now there is a Premillinialism class folder hanging out somewhere on the streets of Humble. Maybe someone will get some use out of it.
On the way up to Longview, Scott called and said Mrs. Hazelrigg was being taken to the ER. She hasn't eaten in a few days it sounded like an her weight was down to 79 lbs I believe. Please remember the Hazelrigg's in your prayers, as well as Scott, Lisa, and Niki. They have two wonderful caregivers taking care of her too. Very thankful for those two.
Oh yeah...pray for Scott. He has Ethan by himself this weekend! Well, I should say my mom is helping out with him.

It amazes me what Ethan comes up with everyday. This was just funny. "Cool" is his new word. I think my mom says that to him :) So far this weekend I've heard about the "cool paci (pacifier)" and "cool Mickey". hehe
