I have not posted in a while. No surprise to anyone on here. Anyways, please know that we are making strides of progress by God's blessings toward us and through the blessings of godly people who support us. Thank you all. I will try and post some pictures soon on our church website.
Sunday was an exciting day. We had a baptism of one of our guests who has been visiting with our young people. We also had a get together at Bob Mark's home. We helped our sister Maria and her family move into her new apartment and start to get settled in. As you can see in the video above we also started our new building for the church in Chillicothe.
I was overwhelmed by the goodness of God and it continues each day.
Hey Mark long time no see. Hope all is well with you and the family. We are coming down today and will be in the area for a few days hope we can see you before we leave. Take care. Give John a call sometime.

Mark, the trip to Nicaragua in November sounds great. I look forward to seeing brother Cuadra and brother Velasquez again. Jaime helped Gardner and I a great deal when I was there in 1996. Keep up the "losses" brother!
I think it's cool that you guys volunteered to help fix the roof at the Carver Community Center. Just wanted to let you know that the good deed didn't go unnoticed. I love your willingness to help anyone that needs it - it is very encouraging!
The Preacher’s Wife
There is one person in this church
Who knows your preacher’s life,
She’s wept and smiled and prayed for him,
And that’s your preacher’s wife.
She knows your preacher’s weakest point,
And knows his greatest power,
She’s heard him speak in trumpet tone
In his greatest triumph hour.
She’s heard him groaning in his soul
When bitter raged the strife,
As, hand in his, she knelt with him,
For she’s the preacher’s wife.
The crowd has seen him in his strength,
When glistened his drawn sword,
As underneath God’s banner folds
He faced the devil’s horde.
But she knows deep within her heart
That scarce an hour before
She helped him pray for strength from God
Behind a tight closed door.
You tell your tales of prophets brave
Who walked across the world
And changed the course of history
By burning words they hurled.
And I will tell how back of them
Some women lived they’re lives,
Who wept with them, and smiled with them—
They were the preachers’ wives.
- My softball team won the championship in Chillicothe
-A stray black cat has arrived at our home and we are caring for it.
-My wife and I hiked at Hocking Hills (trail experience)
-More free time with my wife due to the children being at grandma's
-Many new recipes and cooking excursions due to my diet (my energy is up and I feel great)
-The church here is growing and God is blessing us richly.
LOSSES
- I have lost 20 pounds since the start of my diet.
-I have missed my boys since they have been gone.
-I have turned fat into muscle in the gym (3 days a week)
-My wife and I have learned how to play racquetball (why do I have this listed under the loss column?) She wins most of the time.
-Those things I have lost for Christ sake, I count as great gain toward eternity.
I haven't played raquet ball in years.
Your loss is my gain - I am lovin' my time with the boys....
There may be another stray cat show up at your house...
Wish my diet was going as well. My energy level is up since the doc re regulated my thyroid medicine
I do miss softball. Even though I was getting a bit old to be an effective player.
I love knowing how much the congregation there is growing - both physical and spiritual.
I know it feels like I don't like you fellow pleo people anymore, but that is simply not true.
I have been busy with many projects that have kept me from spending every hour of my life writing on my pleo blog. Sorry.
Anyways, I thought it would be important to update you on what has been happening in my life.
-First, I want you to pray for Ken Parrish. I travel with him to Nicaragua and he is very ill right now. Our trip has been postponed due to his illness. Thank you for your prayers.
-Next, I have been working on a book. More details later.
-Also, I have been trying to continue to meet my weight loss goal this year of losing 50 pounds. I had a lapse in my dieting but have lost 15 pounds in the last two weeks. A 3 day a week gym regiment is in place as well.
-Now, I am getting ready to update the Chillicothe website and hopefully start on a new portion of the website that will have podcasts from Dan DeGarmo and myself.
-That is pretty much it. I suppose that doesn't give me much of an excuse for not talking with you people. Nevertheless, at least you are updated.
You people? What does that mean? JK--15 pounds in two weeks? What are you doing like NOT eating? I want to lose 15 pounds, or 30, or maybe 50. Tell me how. :)
Mark, I sent an email to you and Ken both regarding your travel plans. By the way, Pleo is the most important thing in our Christian walk and dont you ever forget it!
