Happy Birthday!

I wish a very, very happy birthday to my sweetheart, the love of my life, my partner and friend, the mentor my sons need, my remodeler of bathrooms, layer of wood and tile floors, installer of sinks, hanger of sidings, repairer of broken fan motors, changer of oil filters, replacer of broken taillights and bumpers, driver on trips to the Motherland, smoker of the world's most awesome meats, and the man that God knew I needed.

From 2009-04-14
Ain't he cute?!? This is one of the two ties I got him for his birthday from ArtsCow.com; this one has on it a picture we took of some bluebonnets, and the other one has our favorite picture of the boys on it.

Thank you, God, for this man's life, and please bless him today and always as he walks in Your way. Amen.

Happy Birthday, love.

Happy birthday to the big guy! Sorry, I'm just now getting on and catching up. I sure hated that we missed seeing you guys while you were in TX. I'm glad you thought of us, though. We just happened to be at a bible study that night. Next time we get to see you guys, there will be another addition to the family! :) Hope all is well out your way!

Can you send him this way for a while to do some odd jobs around here!? :) Love how deeply you love him! I may have to argue with you that I love my husband more, but we may go on forever with validated points from both sides! :)

Back home in Georgia

Howdy!

We've been home now almost a week, and we're still not yet settled. Jason brought home his mom's old dining table, 8 chairs, and server, so I've been working to get my mom's furniture unloaded and, last night, put into storage. The problem is that I had dishes, candles, tablecloths, serving pieces, and other memorabilia and ephemera in a china hutch and a buffet, and now I'm down to one storage receptacle. We've been looking for a china hutch on craigslist, but it's hard to judge by a grainy little picture.

Here's a lovely little picture of our goodies we brought home:
From 2009-04-14
Front row, from left, contains 4 bottles of Rudy's sause, 1 of 6 Dublin Dr Peppers, Tad's and Nick's geode slices, my little woven Texas basket, and the boys' hats. Next row has 4 jars of HEB salsa, 4 bottles of Adams' vanilla, and 4 bags of HEB coffee. Finally, the last row shows my recycled HEB Texas wildflower shopping bags, 2 packs of Texas tissue, 3 gold-plated laser cut brass Texas ornaments, 5 woven Texas flag coasters, and my gift from my hubby: my Texas Star welcome plaque that he bought at Tractor Supply. Not pictured are the boys' bandannas (Tad's is cow print, Nick's is traditional navy bandanna print, and Chipper's is the Texas flag), Chip's rubber western diamondback rattlesnake, the three Texas tissue boxes my mom got me, or the 80 pounds of V&V sausage.

We really had a fabulous trip-- probably the best one so far. Sadly, though, that made me a bit more reticent to coming home. Thankfully, we have wonderful friends who make our home here such a joy, and we thank you all for that. Plus, we just couldn't leave Dyno with Roy forever! ;o)

I love that welcome sign! Your display looks like it belongs in a store by itself. ;-)

Instead of taking Texas in bits and pieces back to Georgia with you, why don't you just come back to Texas?!! :)

Your Texas stuff cracks me up! You should see my suitcase when I come back to Prague. :) I'll get to email later. Sorry I didn't have your address. Glad you're safely home!

Having a ball

in Cowtown!

If you've been following Jason's blog you've seen our journey through Texas thus far. We toured the boardwalk in Orange, visited with Grandma and the folks in Edna, found some bluebonnets in Smithville, toured the Texas State History Museum in Austin (where they wouldn't let us take any pictures, sadly), went deep underground at InnerSpace Cavern in Georgetown, walked through the Texas Rangers Museum in Waco, and today we are going to walk through the famous Fort Worth Stockyards! We have eaten at Whataburger (3 times so far), Dos Hermanos in Edna, Cartwright's bbq in Bastrop, Dairy Queen in Round Rock (love those DQ Dudes!), Round Rock Doughnuts, Pancho's in Fort Worth, and we've had kolaches from the Little Czech Stop in West. We have HEB coffee, Adams' Vanilla, Dublin Dr. Pepper, and 80 pounds of V&V sausage in the truck.

It's been quite an adventure!

Tomorrow morning at o-dirt-thirty we'll make the journey back to Georgia, and we'll see many of you Sunday morning. Have a great Friday.

I missed you, too. I've got some health issues and other things going on, but I'm determined to get through it all. By the time I get home from work, I am usually done in and have to take a nap before starting dinner! A lot of my problems have to do with caring for my mother. Her dementia is getting worse, and it is extremely stressful. :(

The newspaper article

As requested by my coffee buddy, here's the clipping from the January 3rd edition of the Coweta County Times-Herald. I retouched my face a little within Picasa to try and obliterate the crease, but it didn't work very well since the picture, as newsprint, is just a gazillion tiny dots. I contacted the reporter at the paper, though, and she's going to email me the picture, which I'll post later.

On Saturday Amanda came over and we worked on some sewing projects for her-- what a wonderful way to spend a day with a fabulous sister. We did some singing, and some spiritual discussions, and my heart is so full of love for her. I know you all (who know her) feel the same.

Amanda also accompanied the boys and me to Wallyworld for the boys' eye exams. Boy, if that wasn't fun! They're all getting new glasses; should be in sometime this week.

Yesterday was a wonderful day; Mitch's lesson on Pledging Allegiance to God was awesome, and I'm so looking forward to the proverbial study on anger tonight.

I also got a new bible yesterday-- an ESV study bible, and I'm very excited.

Now, I need to go Sonic-Scrub the boys' bathtub so Jason can recaulk tonight. Then I have a trip to the store on my list, and various other little projects to do. I hope you all have a lovely day-- stand up for Jesus today!
  • lilyofthevalley

HOWDY

I hope all of you are having a wonderful new year, as we are here!

The news:

My dearly beloved is now one of the deacons serving us here in our congregation. Please pray for him and us, so that he may serve to the glory of God the father, and I do thank God for Jason's willingness.

I was on the front page of the Newnan Times-Herald on Saturday, for nothing more than welcoming the first baby of the new year in the county. Whoo-hoo.

Tad is growing, growing, and growing-- he's now added about 4 1/2 inches since August! He got new clarinet books for the holidays, and has been practicing diligently.

Nick is learning division! What a trooper he is. He and I wiggled some number families around today for his homework, and he really is a whiz.

Chipper preached his first sermon Sunday night.

Nope, it's not a typo. He, of his own volition, checked with Mitch and then Mitch checked with Charlie and they gave him the go-ahead. My little 6 year-old read Romans 15:1-7, then Joshua 1:1-2 and said, "We see the love of Jesus in Moses and that relates to Romans 15, and we should all follow the example of Jesus in how we love one another."

How my men constantly amaze and encourage me.

It's so good to see a new post on your blog...I know that you've been super busy so I haven't fussed but I miss hearing about the goings-on of your menfolk and you.

I thought your dad was going to fall out of the car when you told him about Chipper.

We will post the April visit on our calendar.

I found some Creme Brulee coffe... it's made by Godiva and I got it at the Wal-Mart in Victoria. It's in little 2-cup pods for the senseo machines but you could just space them around your basket. I put 1 in my 4-cup basket and it did fine. I'll send you the rest of these with the Houston Blend from HEB and throw in a bottle of vanilla just cause.
