There's no place like home... where is my home anyway?

So I feel kind of homeless this weekend. SO much going on with moving (which isn't complete yet), work, business, personal, and otherwise I think my head might surely explode.

Leslie found my work keys that have been missing for months now! YAY!!

Now my only other important missing item is those stinking glasses... still not found.

It once was lost, but now is found...

I got a call form a stranger this morning on my cell phone...

A guy staying at the Wardman Park Marriott in Washington DC found my wallet under the mattress in his hotel room. Found my business card and called me up. As soon as he gets home he's going to mail it to me.

Seriously.

I guess God did answer my prayers... but in HIS time, not MINE. How's that for unexpected happy endings?

Oh, and if you are wondering why it was under the mattress... your guess is as good as mine. I don't remember doing it, but knowing me, I probably figured nobody would steal it there!

WOW!!! That is quite a story. What a great guy to return it!!

One less thing to worry about...

I guess the judge took pity on me. I don't have to go do jury duty. yay!

Things at work have been CRAZY! It's official now so I guess we are allowed to talk about it. Gettel Enterprises (the corp that owns Gatorland and 5 dealerships in Bradenton/Sarasota) just bought All Pro. So we now have VW and BMW in Gainesville, and VW BMW and Porche in Ocala. Now I can get the employee discount when I go buy my porche... :)

Anyway, because of that and other things work has been a bit crazy. And of course with us about to move, life itself has been rather crazy as well!
  • loislane
Whoo hoo on getting out of jury duty! And I'll be ready for a joy ride in your porsche- we will need scarves and big sunglasses! ;)

I think her purchase confirms the sentiment of the guys on Top Gear - it is a fact that in all circumstances BMW > Porsche!

I hope the new company runs smoothly!

I wish I were kidding when I said this. I'm not.

Guess what I got in the mail this week?

Yes... if you guessed another jury summons... you guessed right!

I couldn't believe it either. I'm pretty sure I will be able to get excused for this one. They want me there MARCH 1st. Like, when I HAVE TO BE AT WORK FOR END OF MONTH!!! ACK! But since I plan to no longer be an alachua county resident at that time (It was a summons from the country this time, not federal) and because it would cause extreme hardship, and because I have already served in the last year, I am thinking they have GOT to let me out of it!

They have an online submit your request for excusal thing that I used. They asked me to explain in 100 words or less. I couldn't. But I tried to briefly explain all the reasons.

"I am currently in the process of moving to Marion County. At this time I am still a resident of Alachua County however my intention is to be residing in Marion county on or Before the first of March. Additionally, I currently do accounts payable at Gatorland Toyota and need to be at work on the first because I have to be there to do all of their data entry. As I am sure you are aware an accounting department must have all invoices and expenses recorded before a certain time in the month and I am the only person in our small office that does that task. Generally I must have this finished on the second of the month so it would cause a real hardship if I were to have to report for jury service. I have already had to report for jury selection on a Federal case in December, and was called back in error again in January for federal service."

Back to packing...

I always get out of jury duty by saying I have small children to care for.

Getting past the shock and getting in to what I need to be into...

is nice.

I'm not missing the TV so much now. Yes, there are a few things I would like to watch, but hey, I've got better, more uplifting things to do. This year is going to be a great one for us. I am quite sure of it. I will say that I am going to watch a portion of the Miss America Pageant tomorrow, but it is going to be at a party at someone else's house, and it is mainly because Artistry is sponsoring Miss America!

SWEET!

I have actually started reading some awesome books that I knew I needed to read. I have not been a big reader personally, unless I really get into it. However, these books had been recommended to me by some awesome successful people numerous times and I finally have given in. I am SO glad I did.

1. Fearless - Max Lucado

2. Peaks and Valleys - finished this one (life changing people... you have to read it!!)

3. The magic of thinking big.

This is going to be a great year. There are so many exciting opportunities, so many things in the air but I just don't care because I know somehow this is all part of God's plan and it is going to go together beautifully... in his time.

I feel fulfilled. In the past year, God has really changed me. In ways that I cannot describe and I know that he is preparing me for even greater things. I can't wait.

So if you haven't, let God get ahold of you. Oh, and check out this website (stolen from madtomkidd): I am second
This is one of my favorites
Be second this year.

This also brings to mind this song which I LOVE:

I couldn't really understand what this song is about, but I like his other songs, so I imagine when I hear it on the radio I will like it too.

I am so glad to hear your positive attitude and that you are going to be reading this year. Dave Ramsey is always encouraging us to read books like this too. In fact, people he hires have a list of 10 books they have to read when they are hired because he doesn't want negativity in his business. In fact, you get fired, yes fired if you gossip in the workplace! Imagine what it would be like to work in a place like that!

I hope you will share these positive happenings and lift me up along the way!

May God continue to bless you and Robert in ways you never could have imagined!!!!
