REMEMBRANCE

We had a wonderful Veterans' Day ceremony/remembrance at school yesterday. I took some pictures, but I don't how they turned out. Having to share the computer with two students (one college and one high school) and sometimes a teacher, my time on here is limited. I hope to share a little of that remembrance when I can have enough time on here to put it together. One of our Parkview fathers is in Iraq. It's not his first trip. We follow his "adventure" through his daughter and his wife. They hope to be reunited here on American soil next week. It's touching to hear them talk and to see their positive outlook and eagerness to all "live together again" one day. That's what his wife told us yesterday. There were tears during the ceremony. A large picture of him was placed in the front of the multi-purpose roomHave a great day!!

glitter-graphics.comI have done so well in resisting goodies and over-eating this week. I have exercised and refrained from eating past 7 pm. I just broke down and had a super small package of M & M mini's. That just left me wanting more. Maybe I'll have a little more chocolate (before 7 pm, of course) and call it dinner. Our girls are all gone, I don't know when Mark will be home, and I'm all alone. :( What better reason is there to eat chocolate?Have a great weekend.

THURSDAY EVENING CONCERT

Mark noticed in the paper a few weeks ago that Frankie Avalon would be coming to our area. He asked me to guess where; so being completely silly I said, “Parma Senior High.” That is the high school that is right next door to my building and is the school from which Mark graduated. I couldn’t believe that my silly guess was right. Who would think that Frankie Avalon would come to Parma Senior High? Mark had talked about going, but never mentioned it again. I had been at the gym from 4:30 to 5:30, and I was eating after getting home from the workout when I mentioned it to him. He had forgotten all about it. Mind you it was after 6. The show started at 7:30. In Mark's last-minute fashion, he got on the phone and got us tickets. Off we went. Traffic was awful. There were large charter busses with a lot of elderly people. Mark remarked that I might have been the youngest one in attendance; but after looking around, we saw that was not the case. There was valet parking in...

UPDATE ON DEBBIE

I was looking for a happy color, so I settled on hot pink. The news, so far, from Debbie is very good. I'm not exactly sure what time the surgery started, but it was early. Abby called me periodically throughout the day with updates. The first one was to say that she was in surgery and cracking jokes. She had to remain awake. She was heavily medicated and won't remember anything, but she had to be able to respond to commands (such as squeezing and moving various parts) as they went along. The second call came a little before 1. After all that time, they had finally reached the tumor. The third call was to let me know they almost had it out, but there was no word on how she was reacting. I lost track of calls; but at some point, they had gotten all the tumor out and were sewing her up. The last call was to say she was doing very, very well. She was "talking up a storm" and appears to have full mobility. They think that if she were going to be paralyzed it woul...

BUSY WEEK AHEAD

Abby's friend, Debbie, is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday. It will be a long one and very risky. We pray she'll make it through and with a good prognosis.*************************Our gospel meeting began today. Vernon Teagarden had two good lessons. I'm sure the rest of the week will be encouraging for us all. If you find yourself near North Ridgeville, OH, please come. We'll meet each evening at 7:30.*************************Have a great week!
