If only I had yelled 'Rabbit, Rabbit'!

Mom and I had a great time at the Storytelling Festival. Katherine Tucker Windham was one of the wonderful storytellers. She said that since Saturday was the 1st day of the month, that before you get out of bed, you must yell - at the top of your lungs - 'Rabbit, Rabbit' so you will have good luck for the month. She said that even if you touch a toe to the floor, you've missed your chance and have to wait until the next month. Well, I'm not superstitious at all but was almost giddy at the idea of screaming this first thing in the morning because since Walker is always awake before me, I could envision him running to my side wondering why I was yelling about a rabbit - get the picture? How fun could that be? Right?Well, I forgot and was quite distraught later in the morning when I realized and actually scared Walker when I yelled (in the car) "I forgot" at which time he was thinking he'd have to turn around and get the forgotten item. I explained to him my plan at which ...

New Beginnings

Aren't new beginnings wonderful? I'm especially excited for my friend, Maryann who had her twin girls on Friday. Please go to her blog for the update. They are still in the hospital but are improving. Please keep this family in your prayers. The girls, Suzanna and Sarabeth, have two older brothers, ages 5 and 3, so they will have a lot of new beginnings in their home :)Also, Holly goes to the hospital to have her new babygirl, Belle. Her big brother - Cole is in for a surprise as well. Lots of wonderful goings on. I'm looking forward to this weekend. I plan to go to the storytelling festival in Athens, AL with my Mom. We usually go to Jonesboro, TN but this year opted for closer to her home. It should be great!Also, hubby and I plan to go to Atlanta on Saturday to see Wicked with some friends. I'm really looking forward to that! It should be great!

Tag

Okay, I've been putting it off but I've been tagged. Here goes:1. I don't like tomatoes. I never have. My second grade teacher swatted me on the behind because I didn't eat my tomatoes. The next day, my Mom sent a note to school stating that I didn't have to eat tomatoes. What a great mom! (to be consistent, I don't even like ketchup.)2. I have a labradoodle. Her name is Penny. She's 9 1/2 months old and already around 70 pounds. She doesn't know she's big though:) She follows me every where I go. How 'bout that for unconditional love.3. I am a twin. My twin sister is Dianne. I have twin sons. They are Craig and Clint.4. All 3 of my boys are older than I was when I married Walker. I'm glad they are getting their education first.5. For the longest time, Walker and I moved more often than preacher families. Thankfully we have stayed in the same city for the last 12 years although we have moved 4 times in those 12 years :) Having said that, all together we've moved 14 times in 27...

Reflections

Well, tonight we had our second monthly Ladies' Bible class. We had a good turn out again tonight and it is so encouraging to see that women, young and not so young want to come together to open our Bibles and learn. Thanks to Summer for doing an excellent job leading the study. Kudos Summer!On a lighter note, thanks to Sarah for bring excellent dip and chips. Got your name right, huh.I'm also looking forward to next weekend. Fall Break for FC folks and at least Clint will come home, Lord willing. Someone_else has other plans. Oh well.War Eagle!

Spumoni = Some Money ?

I've had a great weekend and Birthday on Tuesday. Auburn won on Saturday and the atmosphere in town was contagious and the sea of orange looked great!Sunday afternoon I went to Mom's and we had a great time. (She does keep me up too late at night though, I just can't keep up with her!)I got home Monday night and Nathan among others were at our house. Most were watching a movie but Nathan visited with us a bit. He was so wonderful, he came and with Chris' help, installed surround sound and other electronic stuff. He even came over last night to help up know how to work it :) Talk about feeling old! Thanks Nathan!Walker took me to dinner Tuesday night, my choice was an italian restaurant-that is known for giving you a free dinner on your birthday. My Sister called when we were about through. As we were talking, I said "oh the waiter brought me spumoni for my birthday, with a candle in it!" She said, "he brought you money for your birthday? I want to go there on MY ...

Leaving my boys

Well, we're heading back home today. We've had a very enjoyable weekend, I must say. Walker and I came to Tampa with Craig and Clint on Friday and had a good road trip. We then came to Day's house and have stayed here but have gone back and forth to Tampa. We were happy to see friends of old and new friends. The boys are excited to be back. I hope they remember to study :)We've had a great time with Day and her family. Darby and Noah have been a lot of fun. We've played quite a few games of Pass the Pigs. I think I won one game :) They are good. Noah has a new puppy, she is so tiny and sweet. Darby's dog, Twinkle, is such a good dog but huge compared to Zelda (puppy). In 2004 we left Chris at FC with 3 Hurricanes to go through (they actually never hit Tampa) so this year we leave Craig and Clint with a Tropical Storm on its way. Aren't we good to them :)Well, we're off to hit the road and miss the storm.

Too bad you don't blog or you could actually answer :) We all know that you are a lurker. I love you!

Happy Times

Well, today is Walker and my anniversary. 27 year, wow how it went by so quickly. Tonight we had the pleasure of seeing Tyler and Ashlyn get married. I'm so happy for them and am happy to share our date with them :) The first thing Tyler said to me tonight was 'Happy Anniversary'. I couldn't believe that he remembered with all he had going on! Dennis and Beth have raised great children.Okay, I'm watching the olympics and just found out that Roger Federer was born on our wedding day too. Useless information, I know but I found it interesting. Walker semi-surprised me and we're staying in Bham for the night. Our boys are all headed in different directions and now we're staying out of town too :)Happy Anniversary, Walker! I love you!

Time flies

It's so hard to believe that it's August! Today would have been my Mom's 50th wedding anniversary. Walker and I are coming up on our 27th next Friday. It just doesn't seem like it's been that long. The summer has gone by so quickly. Only a couple of weeks until Craig and Clint go back to Florida College. And then football season will start. Today I've been working on cleaning the house and getting ready for Supper Club tomorrow night. Seems like my house is always a wreck. I need to get help with Flylady again but can't seem to get motivated enough. I need to set goals for myself. Any ideas? I used to do Flylady but have gotten off, maybe I should enlist her help again. :)Ya'll have a great weekend and be safe.
