I've been meaning to update for ages, but kept meaning to do it when I could post pictures of graduation and our New York trip. Maybe those will come later. The last few months have been pretty eventful and busy:*I did interview for the residency, but after some long consideration I decided it wasn't the best route for me. I pulled out of running and accepted a Clinical Pharmacist position at Huntsville Hospital. So far it's been a great decision. :)*I graduated pharmacy school on May 6th!! Those 4 years went faster than I could have imagined, but it is a wonderful feeling to be completely done. At first I didn't know what to do with myself since I didn't have to study, but I'm finally getting to read for pleasure again-I'm enjoying this Twilight series everyone has been talking about. Also trying to focus on improving myself spiritually and physically.*To celebrate my graduation and our 2 year anniversary, we spent a week in New York City. it was my first experience flying,...

New Update!

Well, shethinks I need an update, and I do. It's been a while!Things are really awesome! December was abosolutely wonderful! I had the month off, and I enjoyed every second. I tried to work a little, but I didn't try hard enough so I was lazy all month. We enjoyed a wonderful week in Gatlinburg with both sets of parents and stayed in an awesome cabin. I've never been there in December; it was great! We really enjoyed the decorations and the shows at Dollywood. Christmas was exceptional; we are so blessed by all the people in our lives. We got a whole lot more than we deserved! Got to see all the family, which is always great.Enjoyed a Rook tournament at the Montgomery's house on New Year's. I think Samantha fed us like three nights that weekend! The Rook tournament was great fun, and I've now learned how to play poker-at least somewhat. What has been really awesome is spending time with the couples from Gooch Lane, along with some of our friends from Athens, too. I'm re...

I got to go to the OR!

Thanks to everyone who commented, called, sent cards, or visited when Nanny died. It means so much! Can't believe how fast time flies now! It's almost Thanksgiving and I'm half way through my rotations!! I do stay busy these days though! *Since my earlier post, I've had two rotations in pediatrics. I abosolutely loved both!! I'm really hoping to get a pediatric focused residency next year so I can be a clinical specialist. It means another year of hard work, but it will be worth it. :)*In July I had the cardiology rotation. It was interesting as well. I had the opportunity to go see an open heart surgery, but I was scared with my history of dealing with blood that it wouldn't be such a great idea. I did get to go to the cath lab though, which was really interesting.*Last month, I was at the hospital basically in general pharmacy. One day though, I got to go the OR to follow the pharmacist down there. She would find me a nurse anesthetist in a surgery, and I got to watch t...

Nanny

Well, I know I haven't posted in months, and it has been a crazy few months. Unforunately, the reason I am posting is to ask for prayers for my family. My Nanny (grandmother) passed away this afternoon. We knew it was coming, and honestly we are relieved that she is no longer suffering. It is a glorious thing to know she is in God's care now, and someday we'll all be together again. Nonetheless, it can be hard for us left on earth. I would really appreciate all of your prayers! She was a great Christian woman who worked hard to take care of her family around her. Her family meant so much to her, and I fully believe she was ready to meet her God. Thanks,Kelly

Month of leisure is over...

Well, now months later, Jonathan is basically healed and we have moved up to Madison. It's great being back here. We loved Auburn, but there is a great thing about being at home where you're family is. We got settled in the first of May. I get two months off this last year while I do my rotations, and May was the first one. May 19th was our first anniversary-time really does fly! We took a trip to Asheville, North Carolina. We both had our first whole lobster-this place had fresh lobster brought overnight from Maine. It was very good, but you have to work for it! We spent most of our time on the Biltmore Estate. We had a Bed and Breakfast package with the Double Tree Hotel, and we got to eat breakfast at the bakery right beside the Biltmore house. It was very yummy!! We toured the home and the winery (no tasting!) and we walked along all the garden paths. We got to watch a cooking demonstration at the winery, as well. It was really wonderful! One day we too...
