Rolllllllllll Tide!!!!

Roll Tide Roll! I haven't said much this season about our awesome football team. As some of you know, I can sometimes be a little "over the top" about my team and I have been trying to control that as well as show tact and not be an "auburn basher". However, after tonight,I can no longer hold my excitement in. We are 12-0...yes, we BEAT auburn! My daddy got us tickets to the game and it was soooo much fun! I only got in one little "spat" with an auburn fan and it was because she said that Alabama fans didn't know the fight song. Well, of course I had to let her know that I do know it so, I sang it to her. The final score was 36-0!!! GO BAMA!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!...this time next week, I might not be as excited. We play the gators! YIKES!

Halloween 2008

Well, Halloween was a blast. Landon LOVED trick-or-treating and even got to stay out past his bedtime. He was an alligator/lizard/dino/crocodile... He was called all of those things at least once throughout the night. The last three pics are from the Halloween party on Saturday night. It was a blast. We loved seeing all the costumes and we had fun dressing up as Nerds. Hope you all had a fun time!

I've Been Tagged....

She tagged me. So, her are my8 Random Little Facts about me:1. I do not have a toenail on my right big toe. I dropped a glass on it back in July and it is yet to grow back. I know this is gross but, it is a fact and very random!2. My dream job is to be a police woman!3. I transferred colleges 4 times before I graduated.4. My biggest weakness is my temper...and my mouth. Like her, I stayed in trouble when I was in school and living at home because I could not keep my mouth shut and would "back-talk" my parents ALL the time. 5. I love beef jerkey!6. I am very OCD about cleaning. I can not stand for things to be out of place or untidy.7. I LOVE to shop but, I think most of you know this! :)8. I had 18 people in my high school graduating class.

Ideas?

Well, as most of you know, I like to plan ahead! This past week, I have started thinking about what WE can dress up as for our annual Halloween party. And after much contemplation...I am still CLUELESS! I am so not creative! However, I really want to be something really good. I have been trying to think of something that the 3 of us could do together and I've asked around and have had some good suggestions (The Rubbles, popeye and olive oyl, pries and nun, mickey and minnie, raggedy ann and Andy, Gilligan's Island people, sonny and cher) but, most of the costumes online are not very "appropriate" (if you know what I mean) and I'm just not that creative/talented enough to actually make it (I know that may shock some of you since my sewing skills are so good...HA). So, I guess I'm asking for any suggestions/advice that any of you might have on costume ideas. Please help!Oh, and several of you have asked how the "passy situation" is going. It is actually going ...

"Silly Goose!"

Well, Mike and I are finally talking about getting rid of Landon's passy. I DREAD this! However, I want to accomplish this before we move him into a "big boy bed" which I would like to do by Christmas. So, this morning we were talking to Landon about giving all of his passies to a new baby at church. He calls her Baby Lilly. He was doing okay until we told him that meant no passy at bedtime. He thought about it for a minute and then said, "Mama, I can't go to sleep without my passy, you Silly Goose!" I have to say that Mike and I were cracking up. It was like he was thinking we were crazy for even thinking that was a possibility! That is our funny story for today. Hope you all have a great week!

What happens the first time you send your 2 year old to school?

...he gets Strep Throat. Yep, Landon has strep. I noticed Saturday night that he was a little whiny but, didn't really think anything about it. Then, he wouldn't eat any of his breakfast Sunday morning but, I still didn't think anything about it because he was still acting normal. But, when his teacher brought him to us after Bible class, and said "I don't think Landon feels well. He is hot and wouldn't answer any questions." I knew something was wrong. By the Lord's Supper, he was burning up and shiverring in my lap. So, we left services early to get him home. By mid-afternoon, his fever reached 103 and we decided to call the dr. Of course, they wanted us to come in so, we did and sure enough, he has strep. He is doing much better now but, he was pretty pitiful the first couple of days. His throat still must be hurting pretty bad because sometimes when he eats, he grabs is throat and cries "boo boo mommy. I need medicine!" It is still really hard for him to ...

Already Time for Preschool/Kindergarten?

Well, this time tomorrow, my 2 year old will be in school! Well, not real school, but a form of it. We enrolled Landon in God's House Kindergarten here in Birmingham. When we were "put on the waiting list" I never thought the time would come...it seemed so far away but, it has arrived. I really didn't want him in something for a long period of time each day or for more than one day a week. So, he is in the 2 year old class which is on Fridays from 9-12. I was really impressed with their schedule and that is why we chose this school. They really do learning activities rather than just play the whole time. They work on the basics such as: alphabet, numbers, how to stay in line, how to stay in their chair...They also have snack time, music time, and of course play time. What I love is that they also have Bible time. They study a lesson for one month and even have a memory verse! This month is Creation and we have been working on Landon's memory verse. I am so proud o...
