Our House!

Today is a very exciting day for us. Jeff and I purchased our first home! It is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house. The kids will all have their own bedroom now. Look for future posts as I'll probably be updating with one room at a time upgrades. We have been looking for the perfect house to fit our needs and that would be convenient to our schools and to the church building. This house seemed to fit all of those requirements. Of course there's some painting to do, some wallpaper to be removed, and some fixture updates, so if anyone would like to stop in and help, we would welcome you to come by. I am so glad that I can finally get our boxes unpacked. I have not seen some of my dishes for over 6 months and some of our other belongings since last Sept-Oct. If your ever in the Montgomery area, come by and see us we hope to be unpacked soon.

Fall Celebration

Benjamin's third grade class had a Fall Celebration performance. It was an excellent show. They have worked very hard on it for the past few weeks. It was a celebration of all the things we do in Fall: Back to school, Football, Halloween, Vetrans Day, Columbus Day. I may have missed some, but you get the idea. Benjamin was a Columbus performer. I'm still working on the video. If anyone has any suggestions for posting it on here other than youtube please let me know.Happy Fall!!

BIG FISH and siLLy SoCKs!

I figured it was about time to add a new post and as I tried to decide what to write about I realized that had not given Benjamin much "Blog" space. So with that, I wanted to share some pictures of our latest family adventure. Last Friday evening, we were invited to go fishing out at Mr. John and Mrs. Betty's pond. Benjamin was eager to go when he found out that the fish were biting. He is not one to stand around for a long time waiting for fish, he'd much rather be in a boat or out wondering in the woods. Soon after we arrived at the pond, we began to catch some smaller fish. Benjamin had not had his hook in the water long when he reeled in this BIG ONE! He could not even reel it in without a little help from Mom. I'm not sure how much it weighed or how long it was, but for a little boy, it was a BIG FISH. We had lots of fun.As for the siLLy sOcKs..today is silly sock day at school..we tried to convince Laura that everyday is a silly sock day for her because she has alo...

Ok, enough already! I was tagged(more than once) and here are my 8 random facts, not in any certain order. 1.
Musician In Training!

Today was a life changing day at our house. The afternoons filled with children playing, running around the table, squealing etc..all still exist! Now there's one more noise to add to the excitement. I guess you could say we "dance to the beat of a TUBA" now. Jonathan decided to take Band as an elective this year. He does not know alot about music, but is very eager to learn. He did not even know what instrument he wanted to play. The first week of school, he talked with his band director and showed an interest in the trumpet. So we took him to a local music shop and let him try one out. He had some difficulty playing it but still wanted to give it a try. I think he was more nervous than anything. He did not get discouraged. He talked with his director some more last week and decided that there was a greater need for tuba players. Jonathan was very excited about this. We teased him that it would be bigger than him, but he did not care. He is determined to play it! I thi...

First Day of School!!

Today was Laura's first day school. She was so excited that she was jumping up and down all over last night. After we dropped Jonathan off this morning, we were on our way to take Benjamin and Laura to school and she politely informed Jeff and I that she did not need us to walk her to class. I quickly responded that she had to give me atleast one day to walk her to class. She is so independent! I am very thankful that she is this way. I do not want to be that mother that you have to peel the child off your leg. Jeff and I volunteer at school very often and Laura has always trailed behind us. It is a place she is very familiar with. However, since we did move this summer, this made me a little more apprehensive about today. The teachers and staff that we have this year have all made us very comfortable and I think we will be fine with the change. As for me, no tears yet! The house is empty and quite. I have so much to do to keep me busy.

Just Peachy

Jonathan and myself ventured off on a road trip today with some friends kind enough to invite us along on thier peach picking trip to Clanton Alabama. For those of you who may have traveled I 65 south toward Montgomery or North to Birmingham, that is where you will see the giant peach water tower just off of the interstate. We met our friends and were on the road by 9am and traveled north about 5o miles. We picked 14 baskets of beautiful(and delicious) peaches, which with the four of us did not take that long to pick. On the way back home, we stopped at the Peach Park for a nice picnic lunch and of course had to sample the homemade peach icecream. It was just "peachy"! "REALLY GOOD" as said by Jonathan. We were back home by approximately 1pm. So a very short trip, travel and time wise, and very productive. I so appreciate fresh produce! Here is a look at the fruits of our labor.

Our family and update.

Create your own family sticker graphic at pYzam.comAfter seeing a few friends who had created their families, I thought I'd try it too. There were'nt alot of choices, so I did not get curly hair and Jeff gets absolutely no hair (although, he is not far from it) because the twiggy hair did not look too good with a bearded man. It was fun to play with though. As for an update..I guess now is a good time for that. We are now living in Montgomery, AL. We are still hoping to buy a house in the very near future. All went well with our move. We really are enjoying being with our christian family here.Camp starts in a week from tomorrow. The kids and I will be in Belgreen, AL all next week camping out before camp. Jeff will go set up camp and then return home to take care of things here until next Sunday. After camp the kids will be going to Mississippi for a few days to spend with Jeff's parents. They will be gone from home for almost 3wks. We'll be home for a few more weeks and then...
