Help me change the world one person at a time...

I am an addict. I have been through the Starbucks Drive-Thru five times a week for the past 2 weeks. One day I was going about the normal routine when my heart was pricked as I glanced through my mirror at the car behind me. Rich, poor, artsy, black, white, happy, sad, confused.... they've all been there and they all need Jesus. I can decide to mind my own business or I can do something as simple as paying for thier drink, which could result in changing their perspective on that day or on their life and in turn changing others.Starbucks Drive-Thru = 5 times per weekConsumption = 5 for meResult = $4.00 each visit, $20.00 per week, $1,000 per yearStarbucks Drive-Thru = 4 times per weekConsumption = 4 for me, 1 for a stranger = 5Result = $4.00- $9.00 per visit, $20.00 per week, $1,000 per year... 52 lives touched by selfless generosityStarbucks Drive-Thru = 3 times per weekConsumption = 3 for me, 2 for a stranger = 5Result = $4.00 - $9.00 per visit, $20.00 per week, ...

I have changed.

I don't know how to explain it (of course, I'll try), but I have. I've changed my mind about things and made up my mind about others... realizing more and more how much I need grace in my life from God and from people.(I told you I'd try) I've come to realize that living a life of purpose is not about "finding your purpose" but living in such a way that God can use you and will use you... and trusting that he is, whether you can see it or not. We forget about faith... so much about being a Christian is about trusting that God is working in our lives even if we can't always see it. So I've stopped waiting for that one inspirational quote or daring deed to present itself in my life... that's about me, not about God.I've been hit with a lot of difficult trials over the last couple of months. God has taught me so much about myself and those around me. I've finally come to realize that part of praying for God to use me was being willing to be changed and go through painfu...

when you see a shirtless gangster/hick squeegy-ing the inside of his windshield at the gas station. :) For all of you that have shown an interest... I am utterly exhausted and have never loved sleep so much in my life! I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you all, it's not because I don't care... it's because I honestly don't have any time. :/ I love you!!! Leave me comments and let me know how you're doing. I miss home. :(

Tears of the Saints

These lyrics are so beautiful. I got choked up when I heard this song on the radio today, so I felt I should share it with you...There are many prodigal sons On our city streets they run Searching for shelter There are homes broken down People’s hopes have fallen to the ground From failures This is an emergency There are tears from the saints For the lost and unsaved We’re crying for them come back home We’re crying for them come back home And all your children will stretch out their hands And pick up the crippled man Father, we will lead them home Father, we will lead them home There are schools full of hatred Even churches have forsaken Love and mercy May we see this generation In its state of desperation For Your glory This is an emergency Sinner, reach out your hands Children in Christ you stand Sinner, reach out your hands Children in Christ you stand And all Your children will stretch out their hands And pick up the crippled man Father, ...

The cycle of my heart.

Too often I put my heart on the line for this world and over and over again it's broken... whether by things that did not satisfy, by people that neglected it, others who stomped on it... and for some reason I still hesitate to just give it to Him. I think it's because I know that he WILL keep it and I will be his forever. And though I know that's what I need, it's hard to find that's what I want. But everytime I've done it, I've found an indescribable joy that can never be replaced and everytime I remove it, I find a hole in the pit of my soul as I search yet again for what I think is something else that I want. (sorry for the sloppy grammar)

Everybody wants to change the world...

few don't want to change the world. What everybody forgets to realize is that they will whether they want to or not.Every person you come in contact with, every conversation you have, every expression you make will affect someone for either good or bad and that person can either go on to affect other people for good or for bad. You will have children that will live your reputation, thier children's children will be affected by the person that you choose to be. Let's observe ourselves from the inside out and concentrate on changing one mind at a time instead of having this fantasy that we will do one deed or say one honorable thing that will suddenly affect thousands among thousands. Those that we remember today for having supposedly "changed the world" did not necessarily know at the time that they were even having such an affect... at the time, few were recognized as anything spectacular (some were even hated to the point that they were killed), but thier legacy went...
