Tired and Tempted

We've had some really cool stuff happen over the last couple of weeks in the work God is doing with Rise of the Home. I never imagined walking into this thinking we'd be presented with some of the situations we are right now. Some are incredibly powerful and some of them are horrific and dark in ways I won't begin to tell you. Satan has had his way with homes in ways you could never begin to imagine or even want to think about and I realize more and more why God has put me and my family here. All praise to Him for understanding the significance and perfection of the timing and necessity. One of the things that seems to have struck our couples the most is the discussion of the temptations we all face and how they affect the mind and home. I can't say how important it is for these things to be discussed openly and candidly. Our culture has learned to hide from these things and that's a large part of why sin is so out of control in the home today. We don't talk about temptation and so it...

Protecting Marriage

It's absolutely intense what's happening in our country right now. It seems we're opening up the flood gates of God's wrath on ourselves by allowing sin to permeate everything. If you don't think hard times are coming for the people of God, you're in for a rude awakening. Satan is prowling around seeking whom he may devour and he's starting at home. Be prepared for a vicious fight.

He's here!

Josiah Kemp Guyer was born last night at about 6:30. He was 6lbs 15oz and 20 1/4 inches long. He's long, skinny, and very quiet. He's a lot like both Malachi and Caitlyn when they were born. Lisa is feeling very well and has been able to actually get some rest as well.Every time we do this, I respect the design of creation more and worship God as the creator further. His perfection and timing are something to stand in awe of...We're very thankful to see all that God has given us and appreciate the prayers. Here is a pic of the family and a few in a gallery I created. (I had more, but can't get them to upload because of their size and don't feel like messing with it now.)

Lesson on Inflation

This is what's happening right now. We won't see all of the effects of this immediately, but we will sooner than any of us want to recognize. Our problems have just begun.

Various and sundry things...

1. The Red Sox are in the ALCS, again. Being a Massachusets native, this continual trouncing we give in the playoffs makes me happy.2. I just put up a new set of photos of the kids. I thought you all might like to see it. Here's a sample of the few I put up:3. The Ole Miss Rebels beat the University of Florida Gaytors more than a week ago and I'm still celebrating. Calvin, your girls are so much fun to beat.4. Obama and McCain stunk last night. Neither of them have anything valuable to offer and they just keep proving it. Fortunately, Obama has significantly less and my "lesser of two evils" decision keeps me from erupting from all of the stupid political garbage. That's all for now.

Debates and Baby

I didn't get to watch the whole debate, because we were at the hospital while the baby played games with us. No baby, though. I'll keep you updated.Anyway, two thoughts on the debate from what I saw""If you are so forward looking, why are you always pointing finger backwards?" -Sarah PalinThank you. Well said.If I hear the term "Maverick" one more stupid time...Enough said for now. I need some sleep.

Ticket Giveaway: Fireproof

I am copying and pasting my post on Rise of the Home here:As I said in my last post, Lisa and I are really excited about Fireproof, the movie. We've taken the hits in our own marriage and know how important it is to fireproof your marriage. We think this movie can do tremendous amounts of good to raise awareness for the problems happening within the home today. We plan to go see it this weekend and look forward to sharing our response to it with our readers. As a result, we're offering a pair of tickets to one lucky winner for this weekend's showing of Fireproof in the theaters. If you'd like to enter your name in the hat and win two tickets for you and your spouse or even for a hurting couple you might know, leave a comment with your name and email address in the fields. (Do not leave your personal email in the comment section. We will delete them out to assure privacy.) We'll enter all of the names into a hat and choose one out at random to decide who will win two tickets to see ...
