so i thought that october flew by but the speed of that month had nothing on the month of november. i absolutely cannot believe how fast it has gone by. we were out of school for the first week of the month for fall break. whoever came up with the idea to give us that week was a genius. it was still warm enough to really enjoy the beach and all the crowds were gone. it was great to get away and just relax with mom and dad. the next week i started a unit at school about origins of thanksgiving symbols and we started generating ideas about things we were really thankful for. the kids then filled "imaginary cornucopias" (on paper) with everything they were thankful for. the kids really came up with some great ideas. today i'm heading to birmingham for wedding number 3 of the month and then coming back tomorrow afternoon. we get out of school tuesday for thanksgiving break and i'll be heading home again that day. i'll definitely be burning up the road in the next few day...

wow! this past month, ok this whole year has flown by. it's been a great but busy month. brad paisley was great!!! michael buble was amazing!!!school's been going really well.homecoming was at una not this past weekend but the weekend before...it was great getting to see so many of my friends that have moved.the week of halloween was great at school!the kids were better behaved than i though, although by 2 o'clock friday i was definitely ready to send them on their merry way. why, you ask?BECAUSE MY SCHOOL SYSTEM IS NOW OFFICIALLY ON FALL BREAK FOR THE WEEK!it's rather late i think to be having a fall break but i think we all appreciate it more being so late in the fall.friday, halloween night, we took a tour of some homes in florence that are supposedly haunted. it was a lot of fun! saturday was a great day of getting the apartment cleaned up, errands ran, and catching up with some old friends that came to town. sunday i headed down to birmingham. jason cicero preached a ...

(I think) :)Tomorrow is Friday A pretty low-key weekend is scheduled with some rest and relaxation for me and my favorite football teamMonday is a teacher workday which means I go to school but kids do not, this is a good thing seeing as though I will be able to get many things done that dayTuesday is just TuesdayWednesday...I teach and then head to Birmingham where I will be watching Michael Buble from the 27th row, complements of my AWESOME FRIEND ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hope you all have a great weekend and week next week!~Allison

was had by me today.it started out good...today was twin day for homecoming, the kids all dressed like each other...today four of us teachers dressed identical...so fun!! great mood at this point...it's going to be a good day...then it happened...i can't and won't go into the details of it but someone tried to tell me how to do something today that they didn't have a clue what they were talking about. it was just the wrong day and i didn't take it well. don't get me wrong, i'm not perfect and i have MANY MANY MANY things that i need to improve in my life but come on....sorry, soap box...so then i get to my other school, remember, i travel between two schools and all is well there, fresh start in my day. i leave, ready to go to the park and go run...and then i realize not only have i lost my flash drive that holds 98349672394672936792387649 important things on it but also the back of my phone is missing...normally this would be something that i'd not stress about but given my day ...

ok so i tried writing a new entry today that was actually something other than a quickly thrown together list. and then it got erased...first off, i got to birmingham tuesday night and will be here til sunday. i guess you could say that i'm on my very first business trip. :) the perk is that i actually get to stay at my house and sleep in my bed. i started going to a conference today at a science museum here in town...loads and loads of fun let me tell you. i'm hoping tomorrow will be better. we're supposed to learn about new ideas and products that we can use in our classrooms. my friend mary leigh, who's also a gifted teacher in florence, is also here in birmingham and attending the conference. it's really nice to be down here right now but things in florence are good too. i had a great weekend in florence last weekend. i got lots of things done around the apartment that need to get done. i also went sunday night and played ultimate frisbee for the first time ever. it was a l...

So my summer is quickly coming to an end and I absolutely cannot believe it! I start back to work a week from today and I don’t even want to think about it. This past week I was able to be a counselor at FC AL Junior Camp. It was a blast! I wasn’t sure how it was going to work out but I absolutely loved it. I worked with some amazing counselors and learned so much from them. When I left for camp I really thought I would be the one with the opportunity to make an impact on the kids but little did I know they would be the ones making the impact on me.Here are a few highlights from the week…~when in doubt just answer yo mama~what kind of assembly is this? ~possum burgers and coon dogs~my special friend Maddie :)~”Omega is a team that rocks and if you don’t believe it….”~shaving cream~Phillip, Ian, and Texiera and their “too cool for school”ness~Phillip and canoes~Mama Schug~the amazing Davis family~getting to know Penny and Laura~meeting Prince Shotts...
