A friend sent me this - thought I'd pass along. *WHO KNEW? When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered which is the freshest? So did you "squeeze" for softness to determine freshness? Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week? Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different colored twist tie. They are: M - Blue, Tu - Green, Th - Red, F -White, S -Yellow. So if today were Thursday, you would want red twist tie, not white which is Friday's (almost a week old)! The colors go alphabetically by color Blue - Green - Red - White -Yellow, Monday through Saturday. *Minor burn -- Colgate or Crest toothpaste *Budweiser Beer will condition your hair. *Pam cooking spray will dry finger nail polish. *Cool whip will condition your hair in 15 min. *Mayonnaise will KILL LICE. I like tennis and aerobics because they keep me motivated since I'm such a competitive person - I'll give up at home but not in front of other people ;)

No, I'm not turning into Martha Stewart - but here is something I LOVE that has made cooking so awesome / easy I just had to share. If you haven't tried Ziploc's new microwave "steam bags" you have to! They are incredible. You can put tons of things in there - like I like to cut up potatoes, a little olive oil and rosemary / garlic seasoning..zip up the bag, cook in microwave for 7 minutes and delicious meal done! Veggies, corn on the cob, chicken, etc...anything you might steam.enjoy!

Reality TV Gone Too Far?

Saw something about this today - Kid Nation - where kids are put off by themselves to form a new society without adults, teachers, parents, etc. The description is:"Will they stick it out? In the end, will these Kids prove to everyone, including their parents, they have the vision to build a better world than the pioneers who came before them? And just as importantly, will they come together as a cohesive unit, or will they abandon all responsibility and succumb to the childhood temptations that lead to round-the-clock chaos? Don't miss this intriguing series." See the trailer hereMy thoughts:- what happened to respect for authority and adults? That parents, especially fathers, are leaders in their households? - the verse that came to my mind when I saw this was from Judges "every man did what was right in his own eyes."

So - now that I've moved and gotten settled again with a routine I'm re-dedicating myself to my healthy lifestyle journey - and it is a journey...sigh. I've lost about 50lbs over the past year so far but doesn't it stink that it doesn't come off quicker :)So - my new favorite blog is Back in Skinny Jeans- She has little tidbits of all kinds of practical info - loving it. Besides that she has the video of one of my favorite new songs "Bubbly".
