Totally Blown Away!!!!!

If you missed 1000 Voices in Kernersville, NC this past weekend, you missed a wonderful prelude to Heaven! Over 550 saints gathered together to sing praises to our heavenly Father. The emotional high cannot be expressed by mere mortal words! This was the best family reunion ever! Members of God's family from California to North Carolina...Indiana to Alabama, Texas and beyond. It was so good to see the Sils, Alexander, Miller, Shanks, Connor and Blankenship families again. Lots of hugs, laughter and love for each other. If you arrived depressed, you left uplifted and energized!Andrew...thanks for programming my phone and giving me a quick lesson on texting! I promis to "try" and train my thumbs to type faster, ha!Ken and Sandra, it was so wonderful to see you again! I hope "ya'll" had a safe trip home and Ken I hope you did not find any clocks hiding in your room...sounds like torture!! Nate, you hang in there with school...hopefully you will get to t...

Back home again...

After having 5 beautiful days in the Great Smokies, I had to drive home in the rain. When I got to the Lover's Leap area, the fog got so thick you couldn't see the trees on the side of the road. There were 3 vehicles and we just crept along until we got low enough to be under the clouds...it was a wild ride! The Lord allowed me to have safe passage, and for that I am very thankful!

Pigeon Forge...

Well, when worship was over on Sunday, I headed out for my yearly trip to Pigeon Forge. This time I got to bring the "babies" with me and they seem much happier than staying at the kennel. The weather has been wonderful and the trees are turning their beautiful colors. Of course, October is the busiest month around here, so the traffic has been pretty rough, but through the years I have learned the back roads...so that doesn't bother me too much. It has been a very relaxing week...several times I have taken my chair down and sat by the river that runs behind the motel and the dogs have played on the bank. How can anyone observe all this splendor and question that God exists?

Our meeting is over...

I think it is so sad when the end of a Gospel Meeting rolls around...and that seems to come more quickly each time. David Price, from Morehead City, was a real blessing! He is such an inspirational speaker! I felt blessed each and every time we met for Worship! Kinda like being on a sugar high...only this time it was a spiritual high!We had really good attendance each and every night...even on Wednesday, we had 86 present and on Friday it was 96! The young people really seemed to connect with the messages, so I am hoping that many seeds will take root and grow!

How about Sarah Palin!!!

Sarah Palin did a super job tonight!! I was on pins and needles for her. On to a little updating... My hand is doing better, the soreness rears its ugly head about this time of the week and I take another high powered Ibruprofin, and it eases up. Our Gospel Meeting starts this Sunday with Bro. David Price from Morehead City. I understand that his wife and 3 children are coming with him. I am looking forward to a spiritual feast!! I have never understood why others do not look forward to worship...it is so uplifting and encouraging!!Please keep Penny Horsley in prayer as she is battling serious health problems. She obeyed the Gospel many years ago and fell away...I pray with all my heart that it is not too late for her to make her life right, but I fear it may be from what I am hearing this night. Also, keep her parents in your prayers please...I understand that they are so distraught that they do not hardly realize when folks come by to check on Penny. I pray for the G...

strange happenings...

I got up Wednesday morning to find that my right hand was tender and achy. Didn't see any bites and hadn't hit anything (or anyone), so went on about my day. Thursday, I got up and it was all swollen on the right side and I couldn't stand any pressure on any of my fingers and had no use of my middle, ring or little fingers. No bruising or anything like that. So now I am a lefty....let me tell 'ya that was no fun...found out i am not ambidextrous!!!!Called the doctor and he sent me for xrays. He thinks I have a bad case of tendinitis...but he ordered xrays in case it was a stress fracture. The pain killers are wonderful! I can now move my hand and brush my teeth without pain! Still got some swelling, but it is gradually going down.

Wow..time flys!

Wow, I didn't realize how long it had been since I last posted, whew!Today we celebrated Keelan's 5th birthday. Of course, he won't be 5 until Tuesday. He was so excited...oh to be able to bottle the energy and take a sip when needed. Today is the first day of my vacation week!!! 10 whole days off!! I plan to work around the house and take some little side trips next week, Lord willing, but nothing major. Maybe I can go to Tennessee in October...if I save enough pennies, Ha!Our new preacher and his family have arrived and been with us three weeks now. I pray that the Lord will continue to bless the work here. Ken, glad you decided to jump in!
