Mark's Surgery...

Mark's partial knee replacement surgery is scheduled for ~6am Monday morning. We are in Columbus in a hotel so the drive will be 10 minutes instead of 1.5 hours. We are to be at the hospital at 5am then the 'fun' begins. Please keep him in your prayers. I will update when I have access. Love y'all and thanks in advance...* * * Update * * * Update * * * Update * * * Update * * * I have internet access here in the hospital...now for the less important info :-) (just kidding)Mark is doing great. Our Father heard our petitions. Thank y'all for the prayers. Arrived at 5am - went to surgery at 6:30am - surgeon was out at 7:50am and said all looked great. He did a partial replacement. Mark is feeling great - the spinal has not totally worn off though. We'll see how it goes when it does. He says he is ready to go. He wants to walk. His only complaint at this point is the 'insertion' will not be removed until tomorrow morning. Sometimes you just can't have everything you want.

Do you do Facebook? I am registered. I realize since I am old 'change and new' are not my favorite things. I have only been on Facebook maybe a total of 20 minutes. I see a lot of brethren I know who do not 'do' Pleo are on Facebook.I spend 'too much time here in PleoLand'. I probably should not attempt to build a Facebook world too!?

...8pm EST I have a date and the best part is my honeybuns does not mind. He comes along for the ride. But I will hardly notice because the other man in my life is back tonight. WooHoo, WooHoo...grab your favorite snack, beverage of choice, plop your couch potato self in front of the boob tube and partake of 2 wonderful hours of Jack Bauer. And like he said - do not call, do not knock, do not bleed, do not need and especially do not go into labor tonight! Oh, did I mention WooHoo, WooHoo...Jack is back!!!!

• This and that •

• Mark has been found very healthy and cleared for takeoff, I mean partial knee replacement on Dec 1st.• We bought a nouveau car (used, new to us~ only kind we will probably ever buy) ~ 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. Mark had a company car but because of changes to that plan which included higher cost per month for us and I could no longer drive the car we decided to buy a road worthy car for him. He has a Toyota truck but there is a chance it may be confiscated in the frame recall. We will take the Toyota in next week to see if we keep it or Toyota buys it back.• The baby of the Hastings Brothers (my honey and his 5 siblings) turns 18 tomorrow, November 21st. The brat is making me old.• I spent the afternoon with Willow and Rosie. We went to home school hour at their library. They did some crafts and learned about hair and hats. They had fun, me too! We did a bit of shopping and had supper before returning them home. • I am going to intercept Willow and Rosie tomorrow afte...

Xmas is Coming...

After Thanksgiving the Xmas fun begins. Unfortunately some of it begins/has to begin before the turkey is stuffed and in the oven. Anywho, do you celebrate Xmas? You know the 'Over the river and through the woods', 'Santa is coming to town', 'Chestnuts roasting on an open fire', 'Frosty the Snowman', 'Grandma got run over by a reindeer' (well maybe not that!) type of observing/celebrating. I defiantly enjoy celebrating Santa, the music, lights, snowmen and family and friends gathering... Maybe you are unaware, as I was six years ago, that there are abstainers who believe someone might think you are celebrating Jesus' birthday so they forgo all the Fa-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la.Are you a celebrator or an abstainer?

The Count Down Has Begun

Two weeks from today is Turkey Day. Ummm...homemade cranberry sauce, stuffing, sweet potatoes smushed up with some other ingredients (how's that Angela, I did not use the 'c' word), pumpkin pie...you get the idea. Some good eats. And better than that we get to gather with family so we can...stuff our faces together, veg together, snore together, play some Settlers of Catan together (one of Ben's Bday gifts from Stacey), read some books with less than 56 pages together...how could I not be thankful??Kelly will be home to share in the festivities. :o)David and Rachel will not. :o(Mashed potatoes are one of my favorite foods any day of the week. For me, on Thanksgiving, it is a toss up between the stuffing or sweet potatoes.Question of the day: What is your favorite Thanksgiving Day food stuff?
