Tinny

So I went to get a haircut last night. That's always nerve-racking because I usually have a different person cut it each time. I'm always wondering if I'm going to like what they do or not. Anyway, my hair's not really hardly any different-looking.... Or I should say it wouldn't look that different to other people... I don't think. It just feels different to me. It feels lighter. And it's all because of tinny.A foreign lady cut my hair this time and there was a slight language barrier going on. I had a hard time understanding her so I was a little nervous when she started talking about "tinny." Tinny? I finally figured out that tinny meant "thinning" since my hair is so thick. I thought, well what could it hurt? So I went for it. (Well, sort of. I actually just didn't blatantly refuse so she just went on and did it.) When I left, my hair was all teased and everything so I couldn't really tell how it was gonna be. But I put it in a ponytail on the wa...

Well, I'm sure you are as sick of staring at my old, out-dated page as I am. So here I go! A new post. Oh, and by the way, I'm 22 now!I am actually getting into this election stuff! (Are you proud of me or what?!) This will not be the first presidential election that I have voted in, but I guess I'm just getting older and understanding more about the issues that make the parties disagree. It's all so interesting to me now!Witty Shelby just emailed me his new favorite quote that he thought of today at work: "To become an Obama-nation would be an abomination." I like it! We can't wait to watch Palin's speech tonight.I just applied to student teach in the spring. It was very tough deciding which schools and schools systems to request! I felt like I had to plan the whole next few years of my life in a few clicks of a mouse. I am also set to take the Praxis II on September 13. It's basically a big test that you must do well on to graduate and to be considered fo...

We are home! We had a very nice trip. Here is the brief summary of our doings and seeings...Wednesday, May 14: We flew from Huntsville to BWI airport, rented a Chevy HHR, and headed to their house. She had a yummy dinner cooked for us. :)Thursday: My parents and I went to the Amish country in Pennsylvania. We took a buggy ride and went to some very awesome fabric shops! One shop, the "Old Country Store," had been named one of the top ten fabric shops in the nation by Better Homes and Gardens. We definitely helped keep them in business for the day!Friday: We picked Shelby up at the airport that morning. :) We ate lunch and then did a little bit of Washington DC. We went to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and ate at yummy Chevy's for dinner.Saturday: All six of us did downtown DC.
So my mom and I have sinus infections. Our family doctor is closed on Fridays, so she and I headed up to the walk-in clinic that is less than a mile from our house. We signed in at 10:55am and left the office at 4:05pm today. Needless to say they were running a little slow!! Five hours! Have you ever had to wait that long before in a doctor's office????

So my parents, Shelby, and I went to the Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman last Saturday. It was pretty cool... Go to AveMariaGrotto.com to read more about it. There was a monk in the 1800s that carved Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and a bunch of other places and buildings in miniature! Here are a few pictures...

*DONE WITH SPRING 2008 SEMESTER*

Yippee! :) I have enjoyed this semester and I've learned a lot, but it always feels good to have one more semester down and only a few more to go! I can't wait til May 14! My parents and I are flying up to see them for a few days. Then, Shelby is going to fly up there and meet us for the last few days of the trip. We're going to go to Lancaster, PA to see the Amish stuff, Washington DC, and NYC. I am dying to go back to NYC! I've been there once when I was a junior at Madison Academy. I went with the MA choir and we got to perform at St. John's Cathedral. (But... I didn't perform for very long because I got sick and had to hurry off of the stage during the middle of a song.... but that's another story! Remember that?) Anyway, I'm looking forward to this trip very much!!!Well, other than all that, I don't guess there's much going on that's new. I have a new favorite store in which I could easily spend way too much. It's ULTA at BridgeStreet. She had always told me I'd l...
