Sick Eyes

My daughter is still sick, but her eyes keep crusting over, and are bloodshot in the whites. I had to miss services today to stay with her, and we'll probably take her to the Dr. in the morning. She's had a cough/cold so it's possible to not be pinkeye. But, she is miserable. We've been wiping the area clean serveral times a day.Hopefully the Dr. will know which one it is, and what to do to get rid of it faster.I hope she feels better soon.We also got news today that Wes's grandfather has taken a nasty fall after hernia surgery and was placed in a nursing home by his kids this week. He now needs to be watched 100% of the time, and they feel this could be his final days.Say a prayer for us, please.:0)UPDATE:Autumn has conjuctivitis, so it's probably a bacterial infection. Hopefully with some eye drops, she will feel better soon.

Simple Dinner

Our little girl has been in school as a Kindergartener this year. She has done very well academically, but, has had some trouble with self control - staying on task, and not bothering others - the work was so easy she was goofing off. We've been encouraging her to get good reports by various methods, and after 10 days of good notes, and a whole month of school, she finally got to have a special dinner. We went to a special icecream dinner. We all had cheeseburgers and then a special dessert. It was well worth the wait to get to reward her for her good behavior. It's so easy as a parent to get too serious; and forget to enjoy the time with our kid's. We get so stuck on good behavior and a routine, and it's easy to look at children as something less than what they are: absolute joys and blessings. So, play a game with your child, read a book, laugh. Tell them how much you love them. Tell you husband,Mom, Dad,friend how much they mean to you.I love my children dearly, and my ...

Letting Go

The following was taken from the website cope.org and was written by James J. Messina, Ph.D. & Constance Messina, Ph.D. The website gives permission to reproduce with the website and author information.``Letting Go'' To ``let go'' does not mean to stop caring. It means I can't do it for someone else. To ``let go'' is not to cut myself off. It's the realization I can't control another. To ``let go'' is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences. To ``let go'' is to admit powerlessness which means the outcome is not in my hands. To ``let go'' is not to try to change or blame another. It's to make the most of myself. To ``let go'' is not to care for, but to care about. To ``let go'' is not to fix, but to be supportive. To ``let go'' is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being. To ``let go'' is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own destinies. To ``let go'' is not to be p...
