Not the movie

I posted this last year, but until I find something that better expresses the events and feelings of this event, I will continue to post this:Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with the government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleagues delivered to the Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack. It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was de...

Wisdom from Starbucks

When ever I go to Starbucks, I always read my cup. Usually it has "the Way I See It #____" and someone has written a little blurb about his/her perspective of the world. Because we have entered into the holiday season, the cups now say "Pass the Cheer", and give an example of how you can do that. The blurb from my grande chai latte: "A good way to pass the cherr when you're on the road is to pay the toll for the car behind you. Do this and you might start to look at stoplights as holiday lights instead. Red mean stop and be thankful for the moment. Green means go out and do nice things."I would submit my own additional thought: Yellow means slow down and look for opportunities.Going along with recent posts from Eddie and Than, let us all(pointing a finger at myself) be on the look out for ways to serve each other. Matt. 22:37-40, 23:34-40; I John 2:10, 3:17-18, 4:7-21Have a great day!

Welcome to the planetWelcome to existenceEveryone's here, everyone's hereEverybody's watching you nowEveryboy waits for you nowWhat happens next? what happens next?I dare you to move, I dare you to moveI dare you to lift yourself up off the floorI dare you to move, I dare you to moveLike today never happened, today never happened beforeWelcome to the falloutWelcome to resistanceThe tension is here, the tension is hereBetween who you are and who you could beBetween how it is and how it should beI dare you to move, I dare you to moveI dare you to lift yourself up off the floorI dare you to move, I dare you to moveLike today never happened, today never happened beforeMAybe redemption has stories to tellMaybe forgiveness is right where you fellWhere can you run to escape from yourself?Where you gonna go? where you gonna go?Salvation is hereI dare you to move, I dare you to moveI dare you to lift yourself, lift yourself up off the floorI dare you to move, I da...

Okay, two things:1. The word "y'all" is spelled Y-'-A-L-L. That's right the apostrophe' goes between the Y and the A. Y'all is a conjunction of you all. All of you Southerners who continue to spell it wrong, shame on you!2. As we celebrate today, let us remember that technically is NOT an American holiday. Not one American signed the Declaration of Independence; those men were British citizens living in British colonies. More accurately, they were Virginians, New Yorkers, Georgians, North and South Carolinians, Pennsylvaniers, Marylanders, Rhode Islanders, Delawarians, New Jersians, Massachusians, New Hamshires, and Connecticutians. AND The Declaration was NOT signed on July 4, 1776; the resolution was ADOPTED by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.Now I do not say all of this to downplay the importance of that document and what it's purpose was in the founding of this country, but please people, learn your history; the CORRECT history.Happy 4th of July!:)

The other sideThe other sideThe other side of meBy day, I playThe part in every wayOf simple, sweet, calm, and collectedPretend, to my friendsI'm a chameleonCan make a girl feel disconnectedFeel like a starA super heroSOmetimes it's hard to separateGot too much on my plateIf you could seeThe other side of meI'm just like anybody else, can't you tellI hold the keyTo both realitiesThe girl that I want you to knowIf only I could showThe other side, the other sideI want you to seeThe other side, the other sideThe other side of meInside, i tryTo make the pieces fit rightA jigsaw puzzle everywhere'Cause I flip the scriptSo many times I forgetWho's on stage, who's in the mirrorBack in the spotlightThe crowd is callingThe paparazzi and the fameIt can drive a girl insaneIf you could seeThe other side of meI'm just like anybody else, can't you tellI hold the keyTo both realitiesThe girl that I want you to knowIf only I could showThe other side, ...

After being in summer school for 3 weeks, I am SO glad I'm going to be a teacher. I have decided I hate going to school in the summer.I'm going to be a teacher. Therefore, I won't have to go to school in the summer.Of course, once I go back to get my masters, I might have to go back to taking summer classes; however, I plan on teaching for a few years before I go to grad school.

You scored as Elinor Dashwood, As Marianne's older sister, Elinor lives at the other end of the emotional spectrum. She rarely reveals her intense feelings and is more concerned with being honest and loyal than having what she deserves. Even though her intentions are pure, she sets herself up for loss by constantly placing other people before her own needs. Overall, Elinor is gentle and rational but is just as capable of radical emotions (despite her withholding them) as her sister.Elinor Dashwood66% Jane Bennet59% Elizabeth Bennet53% Marianne Dashwood53% Emma Woodhouse34% Charlotte Lucas28% Lady Catherine25% Which Jane Austen Character are You?
