President-Elect vs. Creator of the Universe

I voted yesterday. I'm not happy, or even feeling safe with the results. Pray for our country, but we all need to remember that God is our King. He will last longer than even our country let alone a few presidents. Obama is just one man. The congress, the House, and even the Justices, are all just men. I have faith and will trust in the One who created them and all of us. Praise be to my God in Heaven who sees all and knows all!

ah thoughts.....yay God!

I've been completely engrossed in the Sword of Truth series. I'm currently on book three and even brought it to campus today to read in every spare moment I didn't spend either in class or in class related needs. This series has been my favorite since 10th grade. I have reread it approximately four times and continue to do so right now.God has given humans so many gifts that I can't even list all the ones I can think of here and still have anyone continue to read it 1/3 of the way through. I'm grateful for each and every one of them. Not all of His gifts are ones that I like, or even really want some of the time. (understatement, please don't think too badly of me) All in all, the freedom of though and imagination are two of my favorite of His gifts. {Obviously song and the other senses themselves are right up there with them.} The point I was originally here to make is, Books, libraries, collected thoughts is all forms, are incredible to me. With each day that passes, I'm re...

God is better than we understand....

Ecclesiastes 11:9 (New International Version) 9 Be happy, young *wo* man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment. Joel 2:13 (New International Version) 13 Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

I'm listening to Freebird right now. It fits my mood. The lyrics match me well, and the guitar solo makes it perfection.

This evening's sermon

"Leftovers"3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. 4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.Genesis 4:3-5Leftover Time> ~1 Peter 1:17 Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.> ~Ephesians 5:15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.> ~Romans 13:11 And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13Let us behave decently, as i...

RPG-mania

I've been up playing RPGs for the past couple of hours. I'm having a blast, but I keep wanting to play more...even though I should be sleeping. So, I'm off to bed now, but only because I maxed out on the things I could do tonight before my characters had to heal. Poor things, I ran them into the ground, but they gained levels, experience, allies, and equipment. *grins* I'm really into these games. I can't wait to play DnD, but I still need to buy myself my first dice set. I get paid next month, so it'll have to wait until then. *snorts* I know I'm hopeless, but I'm really really into the RPGs, and I can't seem to get enough right now. Okay, I'm heading to bed now, I hope y'all are alseep already. Good night!

first day of the first full week of classes...

Today starts the first full week of classes for this semester. I had one day each of classes last week, and got a nice taste for my professors’ ways. So far I’m optimistic.Last fall I met a pre-built group of friends that I bonded with quickly. I hadn’t had a group like that since I moved here and was craving it so badly it made me ache. They have always proven to be worldly, corrupting, somewhat insincere, and seemingly random in their affection. Never the less, I’ve clung to them fiercely since last year. I’m a people person, I crave others, and it’s just how God made me. I’m protective, stubborn, clingy (but most people seem like they don’t mind more often than not), idealistic about personality growth, and a lot of other things that can be either good or bad depending on the use. I came here lonely, and they filled that for a while, though I wasn’t being fulfilled enough I made do with what I could have. That last part you just read has been a big probl...
