Your Favorite Thanksgiving Memory.....

or any special family gathering that made it to your long=term memory. Not much today. Worked Hard. It's been very cold in the store. Watched ALMOST all of "24: Redemption" last night before leaving for work. When I left....it didn't look good for Jack. I heard the DVD for this 'movie' is out Tomorrow! Wow! Looking forward to 24 this January and I hope it's still on Mondays so I can watch it.After work today, I took Mandi to see her friend at the airport before she flew back to Kansas. Missed seeing her friend off because the flight was earlier than she thought, but treated "taxi-mother" to McDonald's breakfast and then was dropped off at friends to spend the night.Husband is doing laundry. :DI'm going to bed.Dog has been keeping herself busy.....I don't want to know how.

Snow

There's not much more to say. I bought a shovel and snow melt before I left work. Spent a good while cleaning off the van of the 5 in. on it. Driving is okay now tho....I need to get more cleaned off before it dips to SINGLE DIGITS tonight. They made us push carts in the stormy snows around 2 am. Then I heard that once next week hits....we'll be pushing carts for almost an hour as people are shopping 24/7. AAAAAAAAH!Looks like we'll be at my mom's for Thanksgiving. I don't know if we'll be able to make it to my mother in laws tho. Bummer!

Austin received NOT ONE D or F this go-around!!!!! He made all As, Bs and Cs. happy! happy! joy! joy!Well, that's the best news of the day. Today I might go w/ a friend to see the new James Bond movie....she's a real fan of the series. I hope we go to a matinee and at the cheap movie place....but I'm also kinda not wanting to go because there is a weather advisory for lake effect snows in the amounts of 2-6 in. today. UGH!!! I have other stuff on my mind to talk about but I don't have the words put together correctly and I'm getting sleepy so it can wait.

INDIANA NEWS:Court Upholds 'In God We Trust' PlateAppeals Court Says Plate Constitutional IND

INDIANA NEWS:Court Upholds 'In God We Trust' PlateAppeals Court Says Plate Constitutional INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Court of Appeals issued a ruling Monday that affirmed Indiana's "In God We Trust" plates are constitutional. The appeals court upheld an earlier trial court judgment against the ACLU of Indiana, which claimed that motorists who ask for God plates get special treatment because they don't have to pay a $15 administrative fee charged for specialty plates. In its decision, the appeals court affirmed that Indiana offers two alternatives to standard license plates and that the fee structure for those plates is "uniformly applicable to all similarly situated license plates." Indiana also offers specialty license plates for organizations, which requires the $15 administrative fee, under state statute. The court ruled that the "In God We Trust" plate, along with another, "Lincoln's Boyhood Home," are simply alternatives to the ...

Sniffles weather

My friend Esther picked me up this morning by surprise and took me on a jaunt or two she had to run over in another county so I came along to help her watch her baby. Her toddler is sick w/ the sniffles and coughs. Poor thing....she's slept most of the day. We grabbed some coffee and hit the road about Noon. Now, something came up w/ her hubby after work and I'm watching Mikayla while they went to handle it. I need to get some laundry done yet as well as a shower before I go to work. AT LEAST A SHOWER. So my lazy day turned busy very quickly. Looks like a busy night at work......fun, fun. Business is picking up and it looks like we're doing well so far....January through March are the toughest times tho for all retailers so we'll see if I'm scheduled much more or less than usual then. The weather temps were in the 40s today w/ that fickle thing called Sunshine. I saw melting snow.....it's so weird this time of year. Jim finished some policies for a few people which ...

A Snow Plow Just Passed Our House........Twice

The calendar says November....mid-November at that, but the weather is saying it's January. Now I'm all for getting closer to spring as fast as possible, but this is ridiculous. Mishawaka even made The Weather Channel with our 'too-icy-to-drive' roads. I had to make a trip w/ Mandi to the store late last night and it was treacherous driving.....esp. when I've not yet got my winter driving 'legs'. Thanks to ABS, I got home okay. She and Lisa though are now getting the brunt of the straight flow of wind off the lake w/ 10in+ forecast.Austin is home from school today not feeling well.Jim is working insurance and hopefully be home soon.I'm finding a warm spot and staying there.

My daughter spoke the words I couldn't give voice to......

The stylist gave me Sarah Palin hair. I asked for a trim in long layers with bangs. I thought I saw it slightly after looking past the obvious facial differences but didn't say anything. I could only smile. Now, I just need chestnut w/ amber highlights, tell the PTO I've been left out too long, learn to shoot my husband's shotgun and possibly find a better wardrobe and I'm on my way to the top.I hope you know I'm kidding about everything.........except the haircut.Oh, yes. AND, the van has decided I've ignored it and after getting me down towards Indianapolis twice in the past 3 months...it needed to breakdown and rest. We think it's simply a battery problem, but it almost made me late to work. In this economy, I can't take any chances on that. Jim will be checking it out at AutoZone today.Well, I'm off to the comfy couch to snooze.

GOOD NIGHT!

Awoke a child who didn't need awakening due to half day......what was I thinking. LOLVery long night.....store mgr was in and in addition to making all of us nervous, he ordered pizza. I had 5 pallets of towering cases. There was so much I had to return to the back.....mostly boots. A lot of markdowns by HomeOffice and....don't choke....alot of mark-UPs. Some are $1 and some are almost $5 increases. EEK! I worked about 2 hrs over so I'm sure I won't be UNDER this week. I at least got to chat w/ the boss and find out what he wants this week.I'm hitting the hay.

Cold and dreary weather......

Not much going on but trying to stay warm. We are having a battle of needs.....between needing to heat the 'whole' house rather than just the bedrooms and yet needing a vehicle to get us to work all at the proper times. My parents are leaving for Florida soon and I don't want them to worry because they've been giving Jim/Amanda rides home or me rides to work depending on the day of the week. But....then I'm also very cold right now. bummer And Jim works tonight and is hoping not to have to stay the overnight and work it as well. There goes another 'day off' for the man. I have faith it'll all work out, but I get down about not making enough $$$ to get all things done that need doing here. (Moving to an apt. would not help because we'd pay more there than we would here.) I think that's why I get so grumpy over Jim's working so much...it's for about minimum wage with very much responsibility. I feel he's getting the short end or used, but I know he believes he is helping so ...
