GOOD NEWS

Well, I haven't posted since August thats quite a while. This is what I've been up to:1) WORKOk thats it. I feel like all I really do: eat, sleep and work. I actually have started to love my job. I love the people I work with and my boss, I actually don't dread going in anymore. My patients test my patience but they crack me up every sinle night and for the most part they are very sweet. The only thing I wish for is more sleep!I am excited about 4 things:1) I'm going on 12 hr shifts!!! I have been going five 8hr shifts 11pm-7am, and now I get to do three 12s 7p-7a!!!2) I was asked by the HR department at the hospital to be the recruiter for new nurses!!! I will be going to the different classes at WKU and other colleges around to talk about what we offer and our new nurse orientation. I am so excited about this opportunity and other doors it might open for me. 3) I GET TO GO HOME FOR THANKSGIVING!!!! Never in a million years did I think this would happen but I'm off...

"I wanna do something that mattersSay something differentSomething that sets the whole world on it's earI wanna do somethin better, with the time I've been givenAnd i wanna try to touch a few hearts in this lifeAnd leave nothin less that something that says i was here"So they put me on call last night because there were too many nurses scheduled, meaning, I had slept til 5pm yesterday and was wide awake and ready to go all night long. So I watched a little olympics, caught up on a few shows and was bored out of my mind by 2:30am. Hmmmm....I'll probably be about ready to fall asleep when I'm at work tonight.I think I'm SLOWLY starting to adjust to this schedule, its been hard mentally, physically and emotionally. WHy did I think that my body would immediately convert to a different schedule after only being one way for 24yrs? I feel like I"ve been COMPLETELY out of the loop for the last 3 weeks. The only place I've been besides the hospital is church, and I&q...

DMV...

This is the craziest 24hrs I've had in awhile..let me give you a run down starting at about 10am yesterday:- Go to DMV to get my KY license- Sent away by a woman who obviously loved her job (yeah right) because my bank statement was not proof of residency...I needed my lease- Attempt to call my landlord to get a copy of my lease, my landlord doesnt believe in answering his phone. - Landlord finally calls tells me he will be over at 3:30 to drop off lease- 6:30 rolls around and it mysteriously appears on my front step, how I have no idea. He stil hadn't contacted me- 8am today: take lease to DMV to get license, rejected AGAIN. Our awesome landlord handn't signed it. - 8:30am tracked down landlord and go to HIM...find him mowing a yard and he signes the lease.- 9am, go back to DMV only to see a sign that says: "Sorry for any inconvenience but our computers are down statewide for an undetermined amount of time".- 9:05am...leave with no license and proceed to pull all ...

the blizzard

So, I've been super stressed lately because of my nursing boards coming up, probably more than I should be. I've been doing sample tests, reading...anything that I think will help me. I'm trying to prepare myself for either outcome. If I pass it will be great, a huge weight lifted!! If I don't, my world won't come crashing down and I can just take it again. I'm really trying to destress. Apart of my destressing involved icecream, so, my wonderful roommate and I decided to go for some DQ blizzards. Any one who knows me, knows that my favorite is a blizzard with reese's AND oreos. We get home and I dig into mine and it tastes burnt...yes I know thats really weird. We all had our theories, I thought the blizzard machine thingy over heated in my blizzard, everyone else thought the oreos were burnt, then I came to the conclusion that it might have just been heath bar ( I hate heath bar). We all had a good laugh about our deep investigation of the blizzard. I need stupid little ...
