I guess it's time to post...I'm tired of looking at the crazy baby mop picture.Last weekend involved going to see the "Twilight" movie and putting up our Christmas decorations at the house. Yay!This should be a pretty good week. Only three days of work and lots of food. We are having our Thanksgiving lunch today at work. I get to see mom tomorrow at lunch. Wednesday through Sunday we are visiting Brandon's parents. Saturday we are going to Adam's new house to watch the Iron Bowl (War Eagle!) with friends. Fun times. And now for my favorite Thanksgiving cartoon:

Baby Mop!

This has to be one of the funniest things I have seen in a while. In case you can't read it, it says..."After the birth of a child there's always the temptation to say 'Yes, it's cute, but what can it do?' Until recently the answer was simply 'lie there and cry', but now babies can be put on the payroll, so to speak, almost as soon as they're born.Just dress your young one in Baby Mops and set him or her down on any hard wood or tile floor that needs cleaning. You may at first need to get things started by calling to the infant from across the room, but pretty soon they'll be doing it all by themselves. There's no child exploitation involved. The kid is doing what he does best anyway, crawling. but with Baby Mops he's also learning responsibility and a healthy work ethic."

Happy Halloween (tomorrow)!!

I like Halloween. I know I have posted this the past few years, but it still makes me laugh. Check out the hilarious pet costumes gallery (click to view):I still crack up over our costumes last year...I'm so proud of myself...I have not eaten or even bought one piece of Halloween candy. (Although I might hit up some 1/2 off sales Saturday if there's anything good left!) Last year we had one trick-or-treater (a college girl dressed up as a fairy) and we had bought a big bag of assorted candy. This year we're skipping out on Halloween festivities and are planning on going camping.Have a safe & happy Halloween!

You can forget what I said about our dryer being fixed...because it's not working again. Boo.I need to start getting up when my alarm actually goes off in the morning. I think I might have turned it off in my sleep today...I woke up 10 minutes AFTER I was supposed to leave! It's a good thing I took a shower last night. And then I was in such a hurry to leave that I forgot my key card to get into my building and department at work. Luckily a maintenance guy let me in the building, but I still had to wait until my supervisor's supervisor's supervisor got here (10 minutes later) to let me in. It's ok...I didn't get in trouble and she just laughed. What a day! (And it's only 8 AM.)But the good news is that my weekend starts at 5:00 today!!! I love just working four days a week. =D

Happy thoughts

- Mom & dad came to visit last Friday for the day. Dad & Brandon were able to figure out what was wrong with the dryer and fix it. Total cost...$.49 + tax!!- Brandon & I went to see Dave Ramsey in Birmingham on Saturday. He is a great speaker and is hilariously funny. Almost everything he said is just common sense, but I guess most people in debt just need a kick in the you-know-what to help them get motivated to get out of debt. He has some good tips on saving and investing too. I must say that the 5 hours FLEW by. Funny guy!- I made brownies from scratch yesterday. Yummy!!

- living near our closest friends, hanging out, and having a good laugh- a "bigger" group of faithful Christians in the local church- a 20-minute drive to work (& cheaper gas)- a working clothes dryer- getting at least 6 hours of sleep every night for a weekThis is just a short list of things I have really missed lately. It's amazing how we have so many things at different points in our life that we completely take for granted. I am definitely blessed and have survived without these things, but I surely didn't realize how important they were until they were gone. Have a good Wednesday!Oh yeah, Happy News!:

Feeling Crafty

Today my friend Melanie turned 7 years old and I was invited to her birthday party. I knew she would get all kinds of Webkins and Littlest Pets, so I decided to make her a present or two. I found this super cute reversible purse pattern online, so this is what hers turned out like (one picture of each side, click to enlarge):I also made her a hairbow/hair clip/earring holder, and I got her a package of the clear window catchers you paint yourself. I remember doing those when I was younger. Here is a picture of her hair thingamabob:(the colors didn't show up in the picture well at ALL. It was purple, green, and pink, with a yellow ribbon).I made a few others too and will gladly sell them for a few bucks or give them as gifts...(My photography skills are horrible...the colors are much better, I promise!)
