My next weigh-in will not be good!

I can't believe Thanksgiving has once again come and gone. How long it takes to think and prepare and shop and cook for the actual day and how little time it takes to eat it! We had SO much food that you would think that no one ate anything. Rick and my dad also went that afternoon to get our Christmas tree. I had real ones growing up, but Rick and I have always had a fake one, because of cats. Well, we wanted a real one this year so he went and got the biggest one he could find. Eight footer to be exact and I got some cheap, unbreakable (we will see about that) ornaments to mix in with some of my annual ornaments. My mom gave me all of her ornaments and some are from as early as the 1940s, so I am going to keep those locked away until the kids get older and not risk them getting broken. Karys woke up sick that morning (actually, she was up a LOT the night before), but was still her usual self on the actual day. We ate leftovers for three days and now I am sick of turkey. My foot surge...

With a gobble gobble gobble and a wabble wabble wabble...

I had my foot surgery done last night on both of my feet and I am now in severe pain and can't take anything for it thanks to being pregnant. I am not sure of the exact number of shots that I received in all, but I did feel 7 of them and they HURT! Simply horrible. Hosting Thanksgiving is going to be quite a challenge for me this year. The Black Friday deals this year are lowsy so as bummed as I am about that, I'm also really thankful that I don't have to dash in and out of stores at 5am. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving tomorrow! Be grateful for your non-hurting feet!

Say a little prayer for me...

I have my 20 week ultrasound tomorrow morning. Please pray that everything is fine and that I only hear wonderful news. I'm still staying strong on not finding out the gender so sorry to those of you who really thought that I would let the curiosity get to me. (shame on you as well!) My doctor will be turning on the 3D (for free!!!) so I hope to get a good view. I was even second-guessing that since you do like to wonder what your child will look like and some of these 3Ds can be really good. But, finding out what he/she looks like won't really matter if I don't know what he/she is! I hope to get some good pictures to post sometime tomorrow. Wish me luck!UPDATE: Everything looked great! I will say that I had a VERY weak moment once I got into the ultrasound room and sent my cousin a text telling her so and she immediately called me back to make sure that I didn't peek! My doctor was the one that did the ultrasound so it was just me and him in the room and he didn't even look "do...

Titus woke me up at 3:43am and I couldn't go back to sleep so here I sit, two hours later, on the computer. I just wanted to write a quick note about how this is the time of year that most of us get excited about and we have wonderful food to eat and fantastic family to spend it with. But, some aren't so lucky. While at Kroger (on the north side of Columbia), I saw a sign that talked about donating a turkey to a needy family. So, with that in mind and my devotion to do something charitable, I contacted my mom, dad, aunt and other aunt and uncle. I bought three turkeys last night to give and my mom and aunt will go and buy theirs. Turkeys are so incredibly cheap right now ($0.69/lb) so there was nothing holding me back. Anyways, if any of you are able to get to that Kroger (every Kroger operates differently so the other one in Columbia does NOT do this), then please go and buy a turkey and then take it to the Customer Service area and they will make sure that it goes to a needy family...

Maid to Order

Anyone remember that movie? On to the real point...Has anyone ever gotten a maid to come and clean just for a few hours? I definitely won't judge you if you have one come every week. I'll just be jealous. I'm really considering having someone come in around the end of March and clean just for a few hours to do some things that I, a)don't want to do b)physcially won't be able to do by that point and c) did I say "don't want to do" already??? I just want all three of my bathrooms to be deep-cleaned and my baseboards washed and my walls wiped off. Maybe I'll throw my kitchen floor in there if time allows. I really want this house deep-cleaned before baby #3 gets here where I won't even have a chance to blow my nose anymore, let alone even THINK about washing baseboards. I guess I should start finding out how much it is before getting my hopes up. But, I would love to treat myself to this, as well as a good pedicure. I mean, being cut wide-open for a third time does allow me th...

Planning and Preparing

For the past few weeks (yes, I said few), I have been getting my Thanksgiving menu organized and spread out to those that are coming and have an oven. I have finally found this year's turkey recipe (it's going to be a LOT of work), the pumpkin pie recipe (it has cream cheese in it!), the stuffing recipe (VERY important assignment and has been given to my mom), and the twice-baked sweet potatoes (aunt has been given the task). Of course there are other things that are on the menu, but as you can see, the ones listed, require an oven. I just finished my gorcery list for what I will need to have everything for what my dad and I are in charge of making which are:-turkey and gravy-mashed potatoes-corn (Rick will actually get to set foot in the kitchen to make this)-pumpkin pie-cream cheese brownies-green bean casserole(anyone else's mouth watering?)I am starting to get really overwhelmed by the whole thing ONLY because everything takes longer when you have children in the same ho...

Mrs.Clean

Yesterday I got corrected. Corrected by my one year old. We were saying a prayer while at church and I failed to fold my hands so Titus folded them for me and then folded his own. Nothing like a small child to put you in line, huh?I am trying to have a productive day today (as I should be striving for every day, but don't) and I have made a trip to Walmart to buy more plastic bins to put toys away. I am sick of the clutter and my kids don't play with half of them so away they go. It was on my "to do" list before the new line of toys came in for Christmas. So one bin is full and another is half way there. More toys downstairs to rummage through this afternoon. I have also mopped my kitchen floor (now I won't cringe when Titus picks up that fallen grape) and have SCRUBBED my bathtub with a Magic Eraser. I have never been able to get that thing clean due to the ridges that the bottom of the tub has. I have left straight bleach in there all night long, but nothing. I have used ...

So Fed Up...

Why does having family nearby make things more difficult and stressful? Isn't it supposed to make it easier and better?Rick and I had a really important thing to go to later this afternoon and we had someone lined up to watch our kids. Well, that person called this morning to cancel on us. This person definitely wasn't sick so apparently they chose to ignore their commitment to us and do something else this afternoon. What makes me so mad is that this person KNEW where Rick and I were going and how important it was and STILL canceled. Rick and I have struggled quite a bit with having our families down here. I was hesitant to be excited when I found out the news that they would be moving down. If it weren't for church three times a week then we would never even see any of them. Rick and I are really struggling with this right now so if you could please pray for us. We are at a major loss on what to do and how to deal as well as handle this.
