I've been pretty busy lately. Last week was our vacation and this week is VBS. Before vacation was the 4th of July, and I got to see little Silas!! He must have snuggled up to me for close to an hour! And I enjoyed every minute of it.So after all that, I plan on posting a ton of pictures in the coming days.In the meantime, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news - I slipped. The good news - I get to tell you... soon! A few calls to make first.

If you're tired of hearing about the baby, you'll be happy that this should be my last baby related

If you're tired of hearing about the baby, you'll be happy that this should be my last baby related post for awhile. :)I'm just excited because we've finally agreed on 2 names!Drumroll...For a boy, Seth. For a girl, Haylee. (Gavin Seth or Haylee Alexis.)Gavin and Alexis were a compromise on my part, but we both really liked Seth and Haylee. So I'm happy with both names. In other news, Micah keeps telling me he wants to go potty. I am always sitting him on the toilet, and he will sit on there for quite awhile. But he has yet to go #1, let alone #2. Any ideas? It would be nice to have him potty trained before our next one comes along!

Today was my ultrasound, and the baby was mostly cooperative. Everything looked perfect, and right

Today was my ultrasound, and the baby was mostly cooperative. Everything looked perfect, and right on schedule. I did get to see between the legs. When the sonographer went to look at the baby's face, I got a quick peek at the lips, but then the baby turned over and wouldn't let me see the rest of its face. Then it rolled back over and covered its face with its hands, like it was playing peek-a-boo. So, basically, I got to see everything but the face. The sonographer tried to record everything on a dvd, but for some reason it didn't work. So she said I could come back and redo the ultrasound sometime.Someone told someone else to call me afterwards and see if they could tell what I was having by my tone of voice. But I have a pretty good poker face (and voice, I guess), so unfortunately they weren't able to pick anything up... ;)(Sorry I have to call the baby "it". You know I don't really think of "it" as an "it"...)

Happy Birthday to my little niece, Kaitlyn (in VA), my little nephew, Jonah (in CA), and Happy Birth

Happy Birthday to my little niece, Kaitlyn (in VA), my little nephew, Jonah (in CA), and Happy Birthday to my Dad yesterday, who unfortunately has to celebrate his birthday and Father's Day together every year. And congrats to our graduates Jeremy and Alexander!I'm sorry I haven't been very social lately. There's just so many things I've fallen behind on, and I'm still trying to catch up.We asked Ethan today what he thinks we should name the baby. He said, "Ethan Eli." (Eli is one of the many cousins he is crazy about.) We asked him, "What if the baby is a girl?" And he said, "No, it's a boy!" He's certain of it! I guess we'll have to wait until November to find out, Lord willing. (Okay, I'll find out on Monday, if the baby cooperates.) So we have until November to convince him that we can't name another child Ethan.

Micah has now entered the phase where he wants to be just like Ethan. Last night, I had given them a bath, and I was helping them put on pajamas. Ethan was wearing his Superman pajamas, with a cape, and then I started putting on Micah's puppy dog pajamas. He looked down at his shirt and looked very distraught. He pointed at Ethan's shirt and said "Superman??"So, being the youngest child of four, and sympathizing with his situation, I remembered I had found a Batman t-shirt at Goodwill, and it had a cape attached. So I took him to their closet and started digging for the Batman shirt.I finally found it, and showed it to him, and said, "Look! It's Batman!" I put it on him, and again, he looked upset and said, "Superman?"So I began rummaging through their action figures, until I found both a Superman and a Batman. And I showed him and named them both, proving that Batman was indeed a real superhero, and only then was he happy. He did not want t...

I wanted to have the boys' pictures taken for Mother's Day.This was one of my favorites, and it reminded me of this scripture.I'll probably post some of the other pictures later.(We do own the copyrights.
Last week I was doing a little more housework than usual. Moving furniture around and things like that... I guess I'm not as young and strong as I thought I was, because Friday I was putting the stroller in our trunk, and OUCH! I threw my back out. Saturday morning it was better, so I continued as usual, but by Saturday afternoon, I was immobile, almost like I was paralyzed. I had to have TJ's help just to get to a standing position, and it hurt to do anything but lay there. (I'm lucky it happened on a Saturday - TJ was a big help!) I'm going to have to be more careful from now on, because I don't ever want to have to repeat that. I am better now, just a slight backache. And before I get any lectures, I should tell you I've already heard them!! :)Our digital camera has been on the fritz, only working right occasionally. So I've been thinking about getting our next camera. I don't consider myself a photographer, because I know nothing about cameras, but I do love taking p...

I was tired of looking at the cake.So... what was your favorite book and board game as a child (as young as you can remember)?TJ's and my favorite book was There's a Monster at the End of this Book, which our boys both love to read now too. And my favorite board game was Hi Ho Cherry O (which Ethan likes now), later followed by Connect 4.Your turn.

TJ came home yesterday and said something like this, "Hey, tomorrow we're having a cake auction

TJ came home yesterday and said something like this, "Hey, tomorrow we're having a cake auction at work to raise money for CMN. Can you make a cake for me to bring? Oh, by the way, some of the cakes go for $200."No pressure! I guess everyone either makes or buys pretty fancy cakes, and it's also for a good cause. So I did the best I could, and called April for advice. I made a round double layer chocolate cake with cream cheese icing/filling. TJ said he would be disappointed that he couldn't try it, so I made a miniature one for him too.Ethan was patting my tummy this morning, and said, "Mommy, you have a baby in your tummy?" And I said yes. And then something suddenly clicked in his head, and he said, "Mommy, you ate a baby?!"
