Evening salutations

Hello, all. I hope everyone's holiday was an enjoyable one. We had a good time in Louisville with Ken's family. Unfortunately, his nephew and brother didn't show up, but we saw everyone else. I, once again, am sick. I'm feeling rather flu-ey, so there was no shopping for me today. Would have been a nice day for it, too. Oh well, I don't have too much to get this year, it's going to be a light one. We have so much. I am hoping to get some decorating done this weekend, but we will see how I feel. Ken is visiting one of our members in the hospital, and then will swing by the drugstore to see if he can find some medicine to help with this achy feel.*ttfn*

Blessings to you...

glitter-graphics.comThe pies are made, the ham is baking and tonight when we return from Bible Study I will prepare the Green Bean Casserole. Seems like I have another sickness hitting me, so hopefully tomorrow I will still feel up to going to Louisville. I think it's been about 5 years since we spent the holiday with Ken's family, so it will be very nice to have us all together. My blessings are too abundant for me to try to list them, but I want each and every one of you to know that I treasure the friendship that we have or are building. May God keep you in His tender care.ttfn

Apple Cake

I thought I would share a recipe with you all. It is so good to make this time of year.Apple Cake1 1/4 c sugar1/2 c cooking oil3 eggs1 t vanilla*Mix well & add:*2 c self-rising flour1 t cinnamin*Mix & add:*2 c chopped apples1 c chopped nuts (opt)**Mix & pour in a 9x13 baking dish. Bake approx 45 minutes at 350*.****You can use any apple, but the sweeter varieties seem to work best. Also, this can be mixed with a spoon, no need to use a mixer. The batter will be quite thick, so you'll need a little elbow grease towards the end. Enjoy! (It's really good the next morning with a cup of coffee)ttfn **Also, I just remembered, when I chop my apples, I cover them with water and when it's time to add them, drain the water. The little extra "moisture" makes it a bit easier to stir them in the batter.

Pray for her strength

Beth has returned home from Louisville, but things are not well with her mother. They found out she has cancer and it sounds like it's just a matter of time. She and the family can use all the prayers you all can offer.-----------------------------Also, one of our members is having a heart catheterization this morning, so if you could remember him in prayer that would be good also.******************The heart cath went well. The doc did find a small blockage, but say he will not need surgery and will treat it with medication. Thanks for the prayers offered.

Veteran's Day/1000 Voices

------------------------We had a great time at 1000 Voices this year, but I must apologize for not having any pictures. You would think that a household that has THREE digital cameras available would have someone remember to bring one--NO!!!!! If you want to see some pics, go to the 1000_Voices group and you should be able to see some and some video of a few songs. I don't believe it's a private group, so you should be able to see them.Ken started getting sick after we got to the Gabbard's house, so he had to just listen on quite a few of the songs because he couldn't sing. We worshipped Sunday morning in Beckley, WV. Nice group of people. Their preacher, Bob Pulliam will be holding a meeting next spring in Danville, so it will be nice to see him again. He's originally from Brownsburg. We were going to stop in Lexington Sunday eve, but Ken was feeling so bad we decided to get him on home.Beth's mother is in the hospital due to some complications from blood clots. Pleas...
