Thanks to everyone for their good thoughts while I was in NYC. The performances were great. The producer of "Mamma Mia" and "Menopause: The Musical" talked to me for a long time, as did the owner of Midsummer Music, an NY music publisher. It was crazy to perform in a rehearsal room for 8 millionaire producers who were deciding if I'm worth their time & money. I think the show will get picked up pretty soon. Now I have to pray that they'll want me in it!I also got 3 new fake designer handbags in Chinatown, and saw Harrison Ford talking on his cell phone on 5th Avenue.Did anything exciting happen while I was gone? Besides the gasoline retardedness, that is?

New York musical

I just found out I've been cast in a new musical that is going to New York in September. It's called "Motherhood: The Musical". My character is 9 months preg-o and 3 other moms are throwing a shower for me, telling their funny and moving stories about motherhood, etc. The script is pretty hilarious. I get to sing a whole song about the joys of being an Avon lady.We start rehearsal Friday and will hit NYC for readings with production companies and a New Works Festival September 20. They think there will be a run at TPAC and maybe some other regional theaters also. Yee-haw.

You're not going to see me for awhile. All-day rehearsals for The Bop She Bops at Chaffin's Barn begin tomorrow. The show opens July 10 and runs 6 days a week through August 23. I won't be at church Wednesdays and won't come to anything you invite me to. But don't worry. To quote my husband's role model: I'll be back. Please be nice to my husband while I'm gone. Invite him out to eat because he'll be eating Hot Pockets by himself for 6 weeks.
