5 hour energy vs. monster drink

Many of you know I have picked up a second job(well, at least 1 or 2 of you know). It is easy work where I clean a health club 2 nights a week. The only problem is I work from 10pm to 6am. I am very tired when my shift is over (especially like this morning, where I stayed out w/Christian friends, so I didn't take an evening nap before going to work) SO, when I got off work this morning I thought I would try the mych publicized "5 Hour Energy" drink. I am, and have been a "Monster" beverage (green is my favorite) for some time now. I am trying to change my ways, and the 5hr drink seemed to have good replacement potential. Green Monster usually has little or no effect, but does cause me to crash after about 3 hrs. So, I figured with the promise of less sugar, more affordability, and of course endored by the CLeveland Browns number one receiver, how could I go wrong????? :o) . . . . If you are a Browns fan, i would like to place ,my disclaimer at this moment. The next...

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.... Brownies!!

Okay, I have one major weakness in my life: Double Chocolate Fude brownies! Yummmmmmm! I have been working to lose weight (I kind of took 3-4mos off from working out, and look very similar to a pale/irish buddah - just not as wise and assuming all know Buddah is/was bald). Anyway, I have been doing really well, but every third day, one of my buddies makes brownies. They are soooo TASTY!!!WELLLLLLLLL, that leads me into an interesting story. Let me preface this by saying these events take place at a firehouse, and if you do not have a sense of humour, this is not the job for you. So, last workday, at lunch we ran out of Vanilla Ice cream. This may not seem important, but when you have brownies, they always taste better with ice cream! Latre that evening we all sat down for the "fiehouse movie." Well, two guys in particular came over, sat on the couch, and were giggling. I mean it to full grown men, trying not to look at each other were "giggling like a bunch of girls!...

hey there

well, i wrote a huge article for this, but when I went to "add entry" it asked me for my password and deleted my lil' story. The basics: Ange is much smaller than me, she doesn't realize it, She painted the house by leaping from chair to chair to couch to windowsill, and me... well ... I moved my sturdy stool around :o) . . . My buddy is doing well, and tomorrow I have the invitation. So, I am excited. Cold/flu season has arrived and we are BUSY!!!!! I am sure it will get worse as the weather drops. Like everyone, I am prayng for the election, but tomorrow if I wake up, and I get someone I didn't vote for, it really doesn't change my life a whole lot (that whole "this world is not my home, I'm just passing through" thing)... I hope you all are well. I have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with my lil darlins lately, and have been definitely enjoying myself. Take care, and have a good Wednesday :o)

bummer and news

1st the bummer: Well, my friend that had the prob w/painkillers is back to work. Things have been going very well for him, but recently he has had to deal with gossips and slanderers. We kept things pretty hushed up here at the station, but once he got back word leaked out. Now, he has been doing well, and is randomnly tested, and according to docs and "shrinks" he is doing great. However, now people are running around speaking ill of him. That is very frustrating. I got into an argument with a guy the other day because he started telliing someone "just so they were aware" of how bad my friend was. You forget how malicious and destructive gossip can be. I can see why God condemns it. Sorry, I needed to vent that out. 2nd my week/weekend: I had to work Sunday morning, but got off early so I made it to church for evening services and a gathering at Aaron's/Anna's after services. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to hang out with Christians. If you have never b...

Rascal Unit

Wow! I need to blog a little more often:Updates: Katie is well and cannot walk in a straight line. Angie is doing well (she can blog about herself :o) )... Abbi is enjoying her homeschool/ep goups Rachel is talking in full sentences and sings everywhere. Brownie . . . well, lets talk a little about the cat...**************************************************************************I don't know if I have mentioned it before, but I do not have a strong sense of smell. My nose is kind of messed up. Anyway, Ange gets back from Tx., and she is irritated by a smell (which I can'r smell). So, I clean out multiple closets, wipe down the entire house with good smelly stuff, and vacuum everything I can find. She still smells something "gross." It occurs to me that what she might be referring to is the cat. Now, I have worked out my differences with the little dude, and the rest of the fam declared their undying love for the furball. However, I fo...

Normal

Hey, are y'all affected by the hurricane back to normal. Up in Columbus, we still have a few areas without power. My parents have been living out of a hotel for the past week. At Ange and My's house we never lost any power. From what the AEP guys told us, they had some specific problems: (1) A number of their crews were down in TX (2) The wind here knocked down both trees into power lines, and power lines themselves (3) When they initially started turning power on to some areas, those wires would become "live/hot," and produce fires. We have been very busy at the fire dept. Like I said, I hope everyone is getting back to normal. I am still waiting for Ange and the girls to get back. Until then, things are just not normal!** Anyway, at the dept., I sleep in a bunk room with 12 other guys. I was doing the right thing and went to bed early. Unfortunately, one of my bunkmates cell phones went off and woke up fopur of us. The other three have gone back to sleep, me I am not quite...

the cat . . .

Okay, so dearest has left me with this lovely, lil beast named: Brownie. At first my darling daughters were not sure if Brownie the Cat was boy/girl (Quick lift of the tale, told all). Anyway, while they are in Tx, I am responsible for the lil dude. He isn't that bad. However, he obviously misses my daughters. I came home Mon., after the storm, just to check some things out before heading to Mom and Dad's. I had been gone for 48hrs, and that dude was all over my legs (after he tripped me 2-3 times, I finally just picked him up and took him around the house with me). So, that night, I go to sleep on the couch (i don't sleep in the bed when Ange isn't there, it just bugs me). Brownie is lonely and starts meowing. I play with him for a bit, and fall asleep. At some point Brownie witnessed little wiggly things hanging from the couch. Brownie is a very aggressive cat, and decided to save the family by attacking those wiggly things. Unfortunately for me, they were my toes. I jumped about 5 f...

I am sure that is not how you spell that, but I have officially moved away from the television/treadmill/other people, and have moved to a radio and a computer. If you have no idea about what I am referring, then you are not from OHIO. Have a good evening :o)

See Saw

Okay, well . . . things are not as "stressful" right now?? So, I thhought I'd drop a PLEO line. Real Quick: Katie - ear infection, Rachel - cute, but still Bambam, Abbi - story to follow (has glasses, school is going well), Ange - is leaving me for my bro and sis' place, Me- I am trying to figure out which nursing school to go to (narrowed down to 2, both look promising, and the fire dept. will pay for it). How Y'all?????Okay, See Saw: last night about 0330, dear lil princess Abbi, has evidently snuck into our bed. At that hour, Abbi flings herself bodily across both Ange and I. She lets out this weird cry that sounds like a "WOOOOOOOOOP!" I sit bolt upright up in bed and basically jump out of the covers. Abbi looks at Ange and I, and states calmly, "sorry, I thought I was going to fall off the see saw." She then turns over and falls back to sleep. Angela looks at me, shrugs, and rolls over and goes back to bed as well. Me, heart racing, unable to con...
