Birmingham, Birmingham, Greatest place in Alabam....

If you don't know that song, then you really aren't missing much. I just remember Mom singing that when I was little. I am in Birmingham (shocking, I know) this weekend. I am technically here for portrait sittings but I am really having a great time visiting my parents and sisters. Ashley is here because her James is in Chicago and then Whitney rode down too so all the girls are together.... Except for Kirstie :(We stayed up until 2:30 this morning just talking and laughing. I don't remember the last time we got to do that! Of course, I will be exhausted at some point.... oh well, It is worth it!

We are moving!!!

Isn't it funny how everything comes together all at once? Well, praise God, eveything has fallen into place and it looks like we will move to Spring Hill next Friday!!! Jonathan and I are beyond excited to be so much closer to Whitney and Phil and all of our Spring Hill friends and family. I have been praying that God would stop this move if it wasn't for the best but I was really wanting it too. I am glad that the Lord takes care of His own and I can be confident in our decisions as long as we are trying to follow Him.Of course, I still have a million things to do but they will get done and HURRAY!!!!- We are moving!

8 Years and Counting

Happy Anniversary to my most wonderful of partners in this life! You have been such a blessing to me in so many ways. You bring such balance to my life and make me feel like I can achieve anything! You are the solid leader of this household and a great provider. I am daily amazed and impressed at what a tender and sweet Daddy you are to our beautiful daughters. I thank you for being a father, they are so blessed to have you. We have been through so many things in this short time we have been one but I know the Lord has made us stronger and is still working all things together for good for us. There is NOBODY I would rather spend my life with. You bring strength, security, laughter, passion, and such peace to my life. I thank my God daily for gifting me with such a husband as you! I look forward to the next 8 years and so many more! I love you!

Ashulee tagged me

I am going to try to think of things that are not horribly embarassing (besides the fact that I can 't remember how to spell embarrassing!).1. I love to clean out stuff, it makes me feel light and happy!- Escept, I have this thing about greeting cards that people have given me. I have whittled it down quite a bit but I still have a lot of those.2. Running gives me a really awesome sense of accomplishment, more so than any other exercise/ workout.3. I had a baby doll until I was 12 (don't laugh too long!)4. I loved to play with lizards when I was a kid.5. I cried at the end of The Little Mermaid.6. I cried at the end of Beauty and the Beast.7. Unfortunately, if one had to be chosen, I would chose comfort over style.8. When we were kids, I really got on my brother's nerves because I followed him around everywhere trying to do what he did... and sometimes, I could do it better than him!Okay, it's your turn!JonathanJulieLeahSarahPaulLynnHeather (Crazy Mama)Heath...

An Answer!!!!!!

Well, with the appraisal mess, I was pretty down in the dumps... I wasn't sure what God was saying or if this was even a message from God. Anyway, we got an answer today!! The appraisal people (or whoever) adjusted the appraisal to our asking price and we are a go on the new house!!! I just cried when I got the news!! I know God is always with us and guiding us, it is just difficult when you aren't sure what way is the right way.Of course, nothing is final until we have closed but this is a definite step in the right direction!!

We were supposed to be at the beach but Ike killed our trip so we are at home cleaning out our garage. Isn't that a wonderful thing to do on your vacation?!?Oh, we were at my Mom and Dad's for the weekend with all of my siblings. It was a lot of fun. We went to the zoo. Imagine that our zoo went to the zoo!!!

So what does this mean?

The appraisal came is $3000 low. My realtor at this point called it a bump in the road and that I should not worry yet. I guess we are still waiting to see what they will do, he is contacting the appraisor and all of that stuff. I am trying not to freak out- I just would love a clear answer of what we need to do.

There are so many more important things than.....

a home appraisal. But in my small corner of the world, it is a very important event coming up on Monday morning. We have finally gotten a contract on the house (actually 2- 1 is a back up offer) and we are really excited about it because we have found a house we really want to live in. It is right up the street from Whitney and Phil's new place! And, in my opinion, it is as close to perfect as is possible. We have gotten a contract on that house and now all that needs to happen is for us to close on this house. Everything is going along very smoothly and it feels like this is the last major hurdle. Most people don't think twice about a home appraisal but I am nervous because our home appraised low when we bought it and when we tried to refi a good while back it did again. We have done so much to the house that it seems almost impossible for that to happen again but I am still nervous. I really feel like God is working things out and I know that if the deal does not go through then ther...

Brrrrr! The water is.... oh wait, it is an indoor pool!

Well, we have started taking the girls to the YMCA here in Columbia. We thought it was going to be wonderfully cheap b/c Jonathan's job gives me and him a free membership- but not the girls. So it is costing us anyway but I am already sure it is worth it. The girls love the water and have had a mixture of experiences... The first time we went the kiddie pool, with the gentle slope into deeper water, was open. We had a blast. The second time, the kiddie pool was NOT open. We have decided that if the kiddie pool is closed, from now on, we will skip swimming! Needless to say we had a lot of screaming. Janie Beth "Phelps" took to it at last and was kicking like a fish (no, not swimming yet but holding onto us and kicking really good). Unfortunately, poor Emma was paralyzed with fear. We tried to make her come out in the water with Daddy or me holding her but that just made her hysterical... SO we have decided to let her go at her own pace. Tonight was really pleasant. Both girls ...
