I was told it's time to post

I don't think anybody has ever told me that.Still living with Josh and Katie here. Things are going just dandy at the Higgin's house. We should be remodeling my room in the next few months. Gonna build walls to give me some more privacy and it should be substantially bigger then too. I'm talkin enough room for a sectional in one corner, so I can have folks over to watch movies and stuff. Gonna be sweet!I've been planning on getting a car in December. Trying to save some money so I can put a heft down payment on it. I had my heart set on a nice F-150, but I may have recently changed my mind to a bit of a sportier choice. We'll see.I am getting my vacation check from when I was in the carpenters union soon. They sent it to my old address so I never received it. That will be a nice addition to the down payment. I also called the old construction company I worked for and found out that it would be quite easy to just take the cash from my 401k. Normally I would just try to...

backyard???

forget that. the higgin family is starting a new trend this evening by throwing a front yard camp out! what fun. i'm literally ten feet away, inside their kitchen while posting this. the window is open and i can hear them all chattering away. it's pretty cool. fun times.joe no is also here since he is working tomorrow but he's already heading to bed. oh to be young...oh wait. i'm staying up later than him!i passed my apprentice test which is a huge relief. i needed to score at least 72/110. i scored a 103. my rank on the list is 260. i really have no idea how many apprentices get dispatched to job openings within two years, but i'm hoping it's a number that reaches me! my only other option is to ask our property manager if he knows of or can find out if Hines has any other apprentice positions open in the area, which i plan on asking tomorrow.i'm trying to get a new vehicle right now. i suppose i could try for the motorcycle first and then save for a better running ...

Time again

It's been quite awhile since I posted. Things are still going really great right now. I love living with the Higgins. They are so down to earth and fun to be around. They are a good example on me and I just have fun. Don't think that'll ever change.Work has been going fairly well lately too. We had a big "Assessment" in the engineering department this week. The vice-president of engineering services came out from corporate in Houston to check out our little operation. It was something we were all kinda fretting cause it was just a really big deal. It actually went great! We were called in for one on one interviews with the gentleman and I was first up. He was seriously just the nicest guy. All he wanted to do was to meet us and get to know us a little bit. He was even asking me about my music and Ultimate frisbee. Pretty sweet!Church has been pretty cool too. Most of the folks will be heading off to camp this week which is kind of a bummer because I wanted t...

a new way

i have moved in with my cousins the higgins. i was not more than 3 days away from moving in with my dad out in tracy when they asked me to live with them. see, living in tracy wouldn't be bad accept for the extra hour it would add to my commute both directions AND the fact that it's much further away from most of the members of the church and our place of worship. not to mention the fact that gas now costs as much as ice-cream!josh actually built me my own room out in his garage. he was so into the idea of it too, it was awesome. not only did they sacrifice their indoor parking, but he build me the coolest room in only 3 days. it's like a dorm room...nicer than the ones at fc though!so i'm loving it here. we'll see where it goes. i love being around the family and the kids i just can't get enough of. thank you so much God!that's my news for now.

pure joy

i don't believe there is anything i enjoy more right now than hanging out at the higgins' house. NON of my time there feels wasted...even if we spend it playing video games or watching movies the whole time! i always laugh until i'm about to cry and just know i'm with people i love and feel the same about me. i relate to josh and katie so much. they are becoming my best friends. and i LOVE the kids. ava just gets sweeter and sweeter every day. seeing her laugh and smile is one of the best feelings i can think of. the boys are just awesome too. and it makes me want to cry whenever they thank God for letting 'Cousin Joey' come over and spend time with them. (the numerous praying is another great benefit)thank God for spiritual and ACTUAL family like them!

It's gonna happen

My dad and I went to check out some bikes last Saturday. We've both been trying to talk each other into getting them for the last couple years and I think we've found the ones we want and agreed to get them by next summer. Here are the two I've narrowed it down to. The Triumph Bonneville T100 - You may recognize this as being quite similar, minus the color and a few specs, to the motorcycle ridden by Matthew McConaughey in the movie 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days'. or the Triumph Speed Triple - Which is just a new version of the motorcycle that Tom Cruise rides at the end of Mission Impossible 2. Feel free to give me your opinions of the two...unless of course it's just about how dangerous motorcycles are. I've heard it more than you know and you're not going to sway me so just bite your tongue unless it's a specific opinion as to which bike you like more. Thank you!Right now I'm leaning towards the Bonneville because my dad is basically getting the exact same bike, ...

sick

i don't get sick too often. i think this time it must have been something i ate. i started feeling it before i left work on tuesday and by that evening i was miserable. i tried to fall asleep around 6pm and may have succeeded but i kept waking up between then and midnight until i finally got some "relief" if you know what i mean. don't you just hate that feeling of knowing you need to get sick, but you're sorta hoping it'll pass, until it proves you wrong/right again!?! it's just awful. so i felt better long enough to get back to sleep, but was still quite upset to my stomach come wednesday morning when i was suppose to be getting ready for work. my boss told me to stay home cause if it was the flu, he didn't want me passing it along. good idea probably.i felt rather upset all day but didn't actually get "sick" again, so that's good. of course i slept off and on and that always jacks up a brothers schedule, but hopefully it won't mess me up too bad. ...

Ahhhhhhhhhh...relief!

One of the main things I have missed about living in Antioch, besides the Church people, is our constant and routine games of Ultimate frisbee at least twice a week.It has been SOOOO long since I've had the chance to play a good game of Ultimate, or even just get some frisbee action in.Tonight a rather impressive group of us from the Dublin Church made it out to the sports park for a good hour and a half to two hours of play. SUCH FUN!!!I think pretty much everyone had a fun time playing. They all agreed that we need to make it a regular occurrence want to shoot for next sunday night as well. This is exactly what I've been hoping for. It's a tremendous amount of fun and totally great workout to boot. You just can't go wrong with Frisbee!Let me contradict myself on that last statement. Here are two rather unpleasant happenings at our game tonight.1. Unwanted bear-hugs (So sorry Jenny!)2. Me chucking a frisbee smack into my 3 year old cousins nose and sending him ball...

Got my TV

Sorry about all the white around it. Tried to cut it out but alas, I suck.So it's a 56 inch SAMSUNG DLP. Model HL-T5676S.I got a great deal on it and as far as my research shows me, the best one around! It DOES look a little too big in our rather small living room, but I'm not really bothered by that. Yeah. It's GREAT with the XBOX 360 so far and standard DVDs played through that seem to have really nice picture as well. Of course, we can't get the full quality HD picture until we get some HDMI cables, but I'll be ordering some online here in a couple days. All the cables in the store range from $40 - $100. That is a ton of money for a stinkin cable. I found some super inexpensive ones online for under $10. Seems like they'd be trash, but all the feedback on them says they work just as well as the others. I guess it could be self praise in sheep's clothing, but I'd say it's worth the risk for that little price. I'll let you know what I find.Carl, one of my Co work...

Tax # Return

I feel as though I am soon going to be very rich. For me at least.I got a nice hefty return this year on my taxes for the FIRST TIME EVER! Every other year I have expected some decent size return only to be sadly disappointed. I'm also getting that $600 rebate on top of my return.Aside from that I just received the two missing disability from when I was out of work for almost a month. So basically I have more money on hand then ever before in my life. Now comes the tricky part. Make it count! I've got about a month until Scott and I need to move into our new place. We've started our little fund to buy a new television but now that I have more than enough to get basically any set we want, I don't want to stop contributing like we planned. Yes this will help, but I'd still rather only spend between $1000 and $1400 on the right one. Netflix has really been helping with saving. There have to have been at least 5 dvds in the past month or so that I would probably have p...
