Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Sydney and I are off to get our haircut today. That is always a big ordeal for me because 9 times out of 10 I always hate it. So, then I just let it grow out and it looks terrible and it's a never ending cycle! We are pickig up our running packets today as well. The only way I won't be showing up for that race is if the canyon is closed tomorrow! After the race we're having a Thanksgiving potluck over here and some serious game playing will be done!Have a happy Thanksgiving!

We're finally going on a LNO to celebrate my birthday. It was way back in August, we are only a little late! We're going to try to see "Twilight" since we've all read the books. However, there were massive lines for it yesterday, not for tickets, just to get in ! We might do a little dining at Pappadeaux!First I'm off to test for my stripe in karate!Have a great weekend!

New Room

I just realized I had never posted the finished product. I still need to re-paint the floorboards where the nails were caulked, and caulk underneath the floorboards so paper and stuff doesn't get under there.

Turkey Trek

I signed up for the Turkey Trek 5K on Thanksgiving Day. That will force me to keep running! My kids both signed up for the .6 race. I wonder if they know that is over half a mile? I hope it will be a windless day. I shaved two minutes off of my time on the treadmill this morning!

Kettle Balls

I decided I was going to try using a kettle ball. Our local Wal-mart had one, so I decided to give it a try. Then I went online and found a good workout.I am dying! I didn't feel much during the workout, but I may not walk tomorrow! I bought a 15 pound kettle ball. I might have overdone it. I had to switch to a five pound weight for the Turkish get-ups.I'll let you know if I get any results.

Lunch

Don't you hate it when you've beein thinking of something all morning and it doesn't turn out?I had been thinking of what I refer to as "alphabets" for lunch today. It is a variation of Spanish rice, but with alphabet noodles. So, I fried my alphabet noodles in the skillet, with a minimal amount of oil, poured some water on them so that they would puff up and steam and then added some tomato boullion to the water. It did not work out at all. I must not have been paying attention to how much tomato I put in, because it was strong! My kids tried to act like they liked it, but I could see their faces. So, I told them I wasn't going to eat mine and they didn't have to eat theirs either. So, we had peanut butter and crackers.I'm still kind of craving alphabets.

The Electric Blanket

As most of you know, two of my girlfriends and myself took our annual trip to OK City for Affair of the Heart this weekend. It was great fun!We were staying at my friend's parent's house. One of my friends and myself were sleeping in a king bed and my other friend was sleeping in a twin in the room next door. It was very cold on Thursday night. My friend Sara and I were thrilled to see that our king bed had an electric blanket on it so we turned it on high. We could feel the heat working and we soon turned it down to 6 and later down to 4 and then 2. On Friday evening I went up half an our later and turned it on so that our bed would be nice and toasty. I only turned it on 6 because it was so hot the night before. When we got in bed I didn't think it felt like it had been on at all. I figured that maybe you had to turn it on high to get it going and then start turning it down. So, I turned it on high, then down to 4 and then down to 2 again. Saturday night was our warmest ...
