Its 6:40. My son just put himself to bed. He came and said goodnight and said he was going to bed. I told him he didn't have to but he said, "Its late, its really dark outside." No complaining here.

Half Day

So, tomorrow is a half day, or early release as they are calling it, because it is technically just over a half day. The kids go home at 12:15. And let me just say, I feel like tomorrow is a day off or a holiday. My classroom will run as usual until 12:15, but I feel like I can stay up late and wear relaxed clothes tomorrow. I'm very happy. We have our poor economy to thank for this. In lieu of our usual raise this year, we were given other "perks", since a raise was just not in the budget. That's fine. So, once a month, the kids leave early and we have time to work. Yay! I'm actually excited about this. My "to file" box is piled so high I really should just make a second box. The flow in my room just doesn't feel right, so I need to reconsider some things. Not to mention it will just be nice to get some things done at work that I would otherwise have to bring home with me and finish. In other news, today was flu shot day for all the kids. They all ...

Sign stealers.

Last Tuesday, Kenny put up 2 McCain/Palin signs in our yard. Tonight, I went to close Kent's blinds and looked outside and noticed that our stakes were there, but the signs were GONE! Someone stole our signs and I have a very strong feeling that they did not take them so that they could display them in their own yard! I was and still am very upset about this! Its just mean and nasty. We're allowed to put whatever sign we want to put in our yard. Its our yard. Kenny said, "I wonder who would do that?" Well, I don't have any names but I'm pretty sure I know who the stealer is voting for. I'm just really put out that someone would come into our yard and steal our signs. That's all. Oh, well...I'm also a little put out that there was no school today and I still had to work. I sat in a training all day. Should have taken a personal day!

Shopping and a Thank You Note

So, tonight we went shopping. My mother gave us a coupon for 20% off at Bealls for today and tomorrow. Not only did we have a coupon, but a family friend that works there told us that everything was an additional 40% off today. So, I got home from work and we were off. And, my mom went with us. At Bealls they have several different racks. They have some that are not marked at all. No sale. Some that are 30, 40, and 70% off. So, today all those racks were an additional 40% off. Yay! I stuck to those racks. Well, excepts for my Crocs. They were full price. Oh well. I bought off the sale racks, then all the sale racks were an additional 40% off and then I got to use my coupon for 20% off my total purchase. So, I won't get into the details of how much item was, but here's what I got:- Hannah Montana crocs (Emma)- Sketcher croc like shoes (Jake)- Crocs (mine)- khaki pants for Emma- Carter's corduroy pants (Kent)- Carter's oxford shirt (Kent)- Khaki pants for me- Hall...

In the past week Kent has:*cut 2 teeth*started clappingAnd...*started crawling!I'm very excited about all 3. When they got home from church tonight (I had school) I just put him on the ground to see where he would go! Very fun!

New Pic

I FINALLY took Kent to get his pictures done tonight. I hadn't had it done since he was 6 weeks old and thought it was probably time. I thought they turned out cute and this one is my favorite, and also the only one he smiled for. It was the first on the girl took. Kent was less the impressed by the photographer. He just stared at her like she was crazy. Then...I used the weed eater for the very first time all by myself. There have been vines/weeds growing up the fence, and I hate them. Kenny is out of town, so I thought I would take care of it myself. I knew it couldn't be that hard, and it wasn't.

Is Belle Busty?

Yes, you read that correctly. I hope this doesn't offend anyone but I thought this was so funny. At dinner last night, we were eating our usual Tuesday tacos and Kenny says, "oh, Cristina Applegate had a double mastectomy." "Oh." I said. Then of course Emma says, "What does that mean?" So, Kenny explains. I for some reason always steer clear of those kinds of questions. Then Emma says, "Oh, but what are breasts?" So, then Kenny uses the word "boobs". And my little Jake, my little 5 year old Jake, just dies laughing and says, "Oh, just like Belle. Hers are all over the place!" The whole time that he is saying this he has his hands on his chest. I hadn't laughed that hard in a long time. I'm not sure if he was referring to Belle in the animated movie, or the one that we meet when we go to Disney World. But, either way, Jake has apparently noticed. So, I ask, is Belle busty?

Thermostat.

For all you Florida people, what do you keep your thermostat set at? I guess you can respond if you do not live in Florida, but only if you live somewhere hot. So, to the person on my friends list that lives in Seattle, don't bother. :)

The first day.

The first day went pretty well. I think I may have been a little too nice. Its a fine line between being mean and getting my point across in a firm fashion. My SIL volunteered in my room all day and she told my mom that I was nice but I got my point across. I took that as being too nice. I have a good class. I only had 15 yesterday. Very nice. I have never been in a classroom with less than 25, so 15 felt very nice. That is not to say that these little children do not need training. Because they do. Lots of it. It seems that there is something about 5 year olds that causes them to think that I am not talking to them, I must be addressing the rest of the class. For example, when I say, "stay in your seat" "Don't talk while other people are talking" "Raise your hand and wait to be called on" " When the book opens, your mouth closes" (you get the idea)they seem to think that I wasn't talking to them, because they just keep doing every...
