Today was my cousin Cherry's birthday. Around 7:45 p.m., I called to sing and kazoo "Happy Birthday To You." We chatted a little bit and then hung up. One minute later the cell phone rings again. It's Cherry ...C: You'll never guess what London just said. I told him that you were going to swim after work (London understands this concept because he took swimming lessons this summer).L (and I quote): BEES careful. It's dark outside!Isn't he so sweet?!!

tapas American-style

What? You think nothing is free anymore? Wrong.Today is Kroger's Fall Festival. It's the one day a year you can eat your way through the store.I chanced across it last year. This year I went on purpose.Picture this - a full deli-style Thanksgiving dinner (cajun or regular turkey, green been casserole, scalloped potatoes, stuffing, gravy, deviled eggs, YUMMY cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie). Granted it's portioned out in single bites. But, hey, it's free! Then as you cruise around the store you sample cooked stuffed portobello mushrooms, salmon spread, shrimp, ham slices, cookies, scones, muffins, apple cider and eggnog. Not too shabby.

London & Hans Story XXXVIII

After lunch and a long 2-hour nap (Hans not London), the gang came over. First we had to build one gigantic tent. Then Cherry and the boys and I walked down to the creek. Cherry brought along a video camera. Hopefully I was able to get some good footage. I actually skipped a rock - it hopped two times before sinking on the third hit. Hans "threw" his first rock in the creek. London threw many rocks. PLOP! The creek was down, so London and I were able to cross to the other side via a pebbly sand bar (which I said were the rocks London had thrown before) and a small rock bridge. London found a stick and tried to chase minnows with it. London had gotten his sneakers dirty in the backyard - so he "washed" them off in the creek. Observation: Many anthills have been built on one side of the trail and not the other. Why? Prevailing winds? We also saw a windmill. We had lemonade OR ginger peach tea and molasses cookies for a snack. I fed Hans his bottle. He inhaled it. Then...

IF the Cans for Kids tow truck gets here on time today, my little '95 Corolla will ride into the sunset. It almost made it to 200,000 miles. It tried REALLY hard.Eleven years-ish. I don't think she even remembers my previous car. This probably calls for a drink ... of the chocolate and peppermint variety.

Inspire your passion for adventure in Colorado's last great ski town, Crested Butte (GUC). Known for its historic and colorful small town spirit, welcoming nature and diverse mountain terrain, Crested Butte provides the backdrop for your dream mountain getaway. Book your Crested Butte vacation for three or more people today and every third airline ticket is free*. Air fare, lodging and lift ticket packages start as low as $584...It's hard enough to stay focused until Christmas break.I didn't know Colorado was having a ski town shortage. This is disturbing. When did they start dying out?

can you guess what it's doing here?

Humidity is rising - Barometer's getting lowAccording to all sources, the street's the place to goI love to hear the thunderWatch the lightningWhen it lights up the skyYou know it makes me feel goodJust aim beyond the cloudsAnd rise above the crowdsAnd start your own paradeAnd up ahead's another townThat I'll go walking thru I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain and let me be alone again.Who said that ev'ry wishWould be heard and answeredWhen wished on the morning starSomebody thought of thatAnd someone believed itLook what it's done so far -------------------------RESULT: No swimming for me tonight :(
