A Lovely Weekend with Four Lovely Maidens...

Last weekend we went to a singing at Norm and Renita's house. It was wonderful! Afterwards, Laura and I spent the night with my friend, Ann, in Brentwood. While there, Laura showed her pictures of the medieval dress that she is planning to wear to a costume party. (This is a dress I had made for Katie when she did her "Pilgramage" assignment in high school. Jessica had the same class so I had made a dress for her, too.) Ann proceeded to tell us about a Renaissance Fair in Florence. While we were talking about it, she looked it up online and found out it was going to be the upcoming weekend. She told us we just HAD to go and could dress up in period costume. It sounded like fun so we decided to go. Since we had another dress, Laura invited a friend to go with us. Then I called other ladies of former highschoolers in the area to round up some more dresses and we ended up with four medievally-dressed girls all together. They came Friday night and we watched movies and rolled...

I forgot to mention that she and her hubbie and daughter met us at Sunday morning services in Tyngsboro, MA, provided us with a wonderful homemade lunch and then gave us a tour around Boston! It was wonderful to be with them for the day. They know so much about the area and we knew NOTHING about it. Their enthusiasm rubbed off on us! We had a wonderful time seeing Boston with them. Thank you SOOO much Donna, Jay and Anaja!!!!!!!

Bliss....

I am in awe...looking out over the coast of Maine in a lovely Bed and Breakfast (thanks to her). I am in the company of three lovely ladies who are having a grand time also. They were all due for some sister (and mom) time. They elected to take the day off doing nothing here in the B&B today (which was great with me). We have played, listened to music, watched movies, taken naps, and COLORED! Laura and I knew that all the girls missed coloring so we bought and brought coloring books and colors and I have some priceless pictures of all three of my girls lying on the bed coloring today...who would have thought that would ever happen? During my last nap, I resisted the urge, in prayer, to make requests and just repeatedly thanked God for all my blessings, several of whom are right here around me...Another of whom is home, alone, very happy that he was able to provide us with this very special "All-girl trip" (which was a Christmas gift from him that I just now "cashe...

My adventurous trip to the Huggins/Beckham wedding on August 1st

I know this is really a DATED post but figured it wouldn't seem quite as late if I managed to post it before September starts...I had quite an adventure while driving to Indiana for this wedding and I've always intended to post on pleo about it...Well, you know all about good intentions, right???Laura and I left Cullman only 15 minutes later than scheduled that fateful morning. We had several local errands to run but had plenty of time. Our first stop (once we left Cullman) was to meet a friend at a gas station in Athens, AL to drop off some books to her...which I didn't mind doing because we had plenty of time. We looked forward to a relaxed day. I hate to travel in a "stressed" state of mind....Our next stop was at my dear brother's house in Goodlettsville, Tn. I would rather go a few miles off the beaten path to use a family/friend's bathroom than a service station bathroom any day of the week! We had a nice visit with Renita, my sweet sil, and even borrowed sever...
