Just a hobby...

When I was in 9th grade I had a career class. One of our projects was to pick 4 different careers and research them-the pay, how long you have to go to school, etc. One of the careers I chose was psychoanalyst. This is a person who analyzes dreams. I LOVE dreams-maybe b/c for the most part my dreams have always been funny or weird, not scary or gruesome. I always loved hearing about people's dreams and some I am able to analyze and interpret more than others. Although I chose not to become a psychoanalyst (mainly b/c I would be in school/internship for 17 years after high school), my field of Marriage and Family Therapy did touch on it some. Dreams are so trippy--are they always trying to tell you something? Are they always attempting to solve a problem that you have? Why are some people's dreams usually gruesome and others can never even remember dreaming? I've also heard that how you feel when you wake up is actually more helpful in interpretation than what you actually dre...

First of all--thank you to all who have submitted recipes. Second, those who have not--please go get your recipe box or binder right now. Now pick out up to three recipes and submit them now, while you're thinking about it. It's for a good cause--most of you love FC, and the deadline is coming up. Then, when you're done, ask your moms, sisters, cousins, and mailman for a copy of their favorite recipes and submit them for them. Thanks for your help.Have a great week!!

California was absolutely wonderful. I loved being with family, tried to savor the perfect weather,

California was absolutely wonderful. I loved being with family, tried to savor the perfect weather, and take in all the mountains and waves, etc. We went to the beach and saw 2 seals and 2 dolphins--how awesome is that? We buried K1 in the sand up to her neck, and she also wanted to try boogie boarding. We ate mexican...and many other foods that would make me sound like a pig if I listed. It was so fun watching K1 with her cousins-- having big-girl sleepovers and whatnot. Out in California, it is RARE to have sweet tea. K1 had a sip of someone's unsweet tea, and she turned to me and said, "Mom, my water tastes better than that!" The cousins loved holding K2 and K2 was a good sport about being passed from kid to kid. We took some family pictures, spent time all together, played games, and laughed. We got to see aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins. I was pretty much sad to come back. But now I'm getting back in the groove and will try to enjoy this nice, cool s...

Going to Cali!!

I am so excited to get to go to California with my family. It's been while since we've seen everyone. Some of my family haven't even seen Kasey, yet, so it'll be neat to be out there. We're looking forward to the family (of course), the weather, mountains, oceans with waves, Del Taco, Claim Jumper, In-N-Out, Carl's Jr., and donuts. I haven't done the Hollywood thing since I was like 10 years old, so I think we're going to do that, too. Only thing I'm nervous about is the plane trip. Katelyn will be fine, but Kasey is a bit active (6 months old). Any suggestions on keeping a baby happy/sedated :) for a LONG flight? One other question--what do you think of when you think of California? I'm very curious. I think of "home."

Connie Ashley potluck was a success!

We had the potluck for Connie Ashley today, and she really enjoyed it. There was a good turnout and wonderful food. She was very surprised and I loved to watch her smiling so much. This evening she'll get to go through her basket full of presents, cards, letters, and pictures. Thank you everyone for your participation in celebrating this wonderful lady. A good time was had by all, and seeing Connie smiling and extremely happy made it all worth it.

Connie-

Finally made some plans. The "make Connie happy" basket will be given to her at her potluck. Next Saturday, we'll be having a potluck/singing all for Connie. We'll hopefully be making her famous dishes that she's served at her singings, we'll sing some, and we'll give her the basket full of fun stuff. She'll love it. So, if anyone still has anything for Connie, you have till next Sat. at noon. If it's just a card, I'm sure you can slip it in when you get to the potluck. Anything larger, I'd like beforehand, to make sure we have room for everything. Again, just a quick email would be nice--makeconniehappy@yahoo.com. Thanks everyone for celebrating this lady with me.
