Will Muschamp, head coach in waitingForget the rumors about Clemson or Tennessee or Washington.Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp won't be going anywhere except the head coach's office in a few years. The Longhorns named Muschamp as Mack Brown's successor this afternoon at a press conference that featured athletic director DeLoss Dodds, Brown and Muschamp. Dodds emphasized that Brown would be remaining as the head coach for a number of years."There is no timetable," Brown said.Muschamp, 37 and in his first year as defensive coordinator since coming from Auburn, will see his salary boosted from $450,000 to $900,000 on Jan. 1, Dodds said. With the following being confirmed around 3:30 earlier today, what do you think will happen with Auburn?

I looked out my window this morning. Contrary to popular belief of what I have seen on both here and facebook, the sun still came up. There has not been a mass exodus towards foreign borders. I just hope that everyone is ready to give their support and prayers to our new leader, and remembers who he was placed there by. In case you have forgotten the answer can be found in Romans 13

Dating x's and o's by ESPN's Pat Forde

The latest proof that Texas Tech coach Mike Leach is among the more fascinating football coaches on the planet comes from this YouTube clip. In it, Leach dispenses dating advice on his coach's show. Among his first-date stratagems: Avoid salad-intensive menus, thus "the girl will be forced to eat in front of you, which is something that women hate, but the earlier the better." Also: If the conversation is lagging, go to a coffee house so you can talk about "the bizarre-looking characters going in and out."The fact Leach would field the question is tremendous. That he discussed it with a stone-cold straight face is supernatural, but in character. Leach could open the door to fetch the morning paper, be greeted by a Tyrannosaurus Rex on the front lawn and fail to change facial expression or voice inflection. But it also got The Dash wondering what dating tips other coaches might offer young men on their campuses.Bobby Petrino : "Flatter her all night -- but...

It's Saturday....

On saturday what else is there to do besideswatch college football? I literally watched half of the SEC play today. Here are my thoughts. Game #1 Alabama @ ArkansasA clinic was held as to show how to run the football with Alabama as the guest speaker while Arkansas was gracious enough to host. Beautiful game. If I had to nitpick and try to say what Alabama did wrong, I think that around the end of the 3rd quarter they allowed the Arkansas defense to mess with their heads and tempers flaired a bit. Will definitely have to keep that in check going up a very fierce Georgia opponent a week from today. To the credit of Arkansas, they did manage to run more against Alabama than Clemson, Tulane and WKU combined. Game #2 Florida @ Tennessee What a snoozefest. Tennessee looked lethargic to say the least and fans were pouring out of the stadium after the 1st Florida drive in the 2nd half. Not saying that I would have stayed and watched, but all the same still ugly to watch. I read th...

...and getting caught in the rain...

I laughed on the way to my class today. All the way to class. There was no one around me, and I laughed. I laughed because as I stepped outside on my way to class already falling rain increased its downpour rapidly. The harder I laughed, the harder it rained. I'm sure I looked posessed to folks around me, but I don't care.I did try to buy an umbrella for those of you wondering whether I was prepared or not, but the bookstore closed it's doors on me, tornado warning you know. I walked into the building where my next class was to be held only to find all of my classmates standing outside of my cancelled 10AM class. I laughed as they stared at me with disbelief that I had walked in the POURING rain across campus. I than walked into the library where they exiled me to the basement during the duration of the tornado warning. So now I sit here, drenched, in the computer lab, awaiting my next class. I kinda feel sorry for whoever sits in my seat next. So in the next 15 min...
