Since we're almost two months past August, I guess its time for a new post. I haven't been up to anything too exciting --- just working, studying, & hanging out with Andrew. Life is good!On a different note --- While a fan of all Tampa sports teams, I am not really what you would call a baseball fan. Football and hockey are more my thing, but this postseason with the Rays has been amazing. I definitely have gotten a greater appreciation for the game though I'm still amazed at the idea of the words Rays and World Series being used together. The Bucs are doing well so now if the Lightning would just start winning all would be good in my sports world :)

It's August...

Where has the summer gone? I was able to enjoy two trips in July. The first was a weekend trip to the beach with Tara & April. The second was a trip to Tennessee for a family reunion, but I managed to catch up with as many friends as I could in the short time that I was there too. David & Jenn get into town tonight for a week or so. I know that will be lots of fun and running around. Then its back to work next Friday. This summer has just flown by!

School's Out for Summer!

I was really tired of seeing happy easter every time I logged on so figure it is time for a new post. The last day of school was yesterday, & I am very happy to be on summer vacation. I have a couple of short beach trips planned and a trip to Tennessee for a family reunion. Other than that I will be finishing my last actual class of my doctorate this June. Exams and residency for the dissertation will still be coming up next year, but being done with the actual coursework will be a huge relief! Anyway, those are my exciting summer plans. What are yours?

Say a little prayer...

Sometimes its really hard for me to ask for help, but I'd appreciate any prayers that you can put out there. I've been dealing with a health thing for four months, and though the latest tests have finally shown that there is a problem, it seems we are no closer to a diagnosis and fixing it than we were when it started. So anything would help.On a lighter note -- I can't believe that my nephew is turning 8 this weekend. It really can't have been that long ago. Hope you all have a good weekend filled with easter egg hunts and fun surprises like when you were kids!

A new post

The last few months have been busy with all of my middle school band things (all-county, all-state, solo& ensemble, jazz contest) along with my courses that I teach and am taking online. Even though it has been busy, things have been good, and I think I may be finally learning to handle the stress aspect of my job better. I guess I'll see whether that is really true in the next month as we prepare for concert contest. I do think that all of the things that have happened in the last year with work and life have helped me to realize that I can't control anything (even though I would like to) and to let things go more. My students have commented on it even though I am still far from losing my type A personality! I had to say goodbye to my trusty old Dell laptop of 5+ years this past weekend. It had started doing some very weird things lately besides just being a complete dinosaur. I'm entering the last two courses of my degree which are both centered around the beginni...
