and for the inquiring minds...we borrowed the tent from some friends and the tarp, cover, and poles were in the box. The tent was back at their house mistakenly put in a bag with some chairs they took on their last camping trip.

Highs and lows of a family camping trip

High:Colorado Bend State Park is so pretty and only about 2 hours away.We chose a campsite right next to the river and the canyon. There was also a great tree right next to us that Franklin called the tarantula tree. It had limbs in all directions close to the ground. Plenty of climbing fun!Low:While setting up camp we realize that the tent is not in the box.Matt drives 30 minutes to a store that thankfully has 2 itty-bitty tents for sale.High: Gorgeous weather and peaceful environment.Low: Upon returning from the tent store we see that we have a flat tire. We have no spare. We call my Dad (who is the most helpful person you will ever meet if I haven't mentioned that before) and he starts a search for a spare that he can buy and bring out to us. We have no cell service so calling my dad meant a $10 collect call.High: A campfire, roasting turkey/soy dogs and marshmallows, watching the stars, etc. General camping fun with the kids.Low: I forgot to bring the lantern...

Gay marriage Ban And I am really thankful that African Americans feel validated by having Obama as president. Let's keep in mind how far things have come from the horrible way they were treated in this country in just the past 100 years. It will be wonderful for some whites that STILL harbor racial prejudices to see an educated, dignified black man in such a position. If only he held more Godly views.

A wasted vote?

Albert Einstein is credited with saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. If people do not start supporting 3rd party candidates then no, a 3rd party candidate will not ever win. You CAN make your voice be heard by voting for someone that is the type of person you'd like to have in office... even if he is not on the ticket or likely to win.A wasted vote would be for a candidate that you feel is the lesser of 2 evils. There are other options out there. Chuck Baldwin Live "A wasted vote"

Voting on Halloween is funny. It was interesting seeing people in line in silly costumes. However, I wasn't sure if some people were in costume or just weird looking.Franklin's t-ball tournament ended today. They made it to the championship game and came in second. It was exciting but tiring. They played 2 games in a row, straight through lunch time. Not well planned and possibly the reason we lost the final game. The other team had 2 hours of rest. However, they also had a star player. With 5-6 year olds, basically if a player on your team can actually catch the ball, you're gonna win.I really don't have much more to share.Things around here have been busy lately and my house and my brain are suffering. Therefore I will wrap this up to put a few things away and go to bed.
