My Other Blogs

Hey guys,Several of you have frequented my other blogs and I just want to say thank you. I hope they have been helpful.Because of some limitations on the wordpress.com blog, I have moved both my other blogs to new sites. Please check them out and feel free to take part in the conversations there.A Springboard for You&Give Attention to ReadingA great new feature of these sites is the easy ability to subscribe to these blogs via e-mail. At the top right on each site is a spot to enter your e-mail. That way you don't have to hunt down the blog every day. Rather, whenever a new post is added, it will automatically be e-mailed to you.In both blogs, I strive to be uplifting and helpful. If you find them to be edifying, I especially ask you to let your friends know about them. Thanks again for using some of your time to keep up with my blogs. I look forward to hearing from you out there.May God richly bless you as you draw closer to Him.More importantly, may you richly b...

My Kids Rock

After making the terrible financial decision to buy an iPhone (which I do love, by the way) I passed on my old phone with video capabilities to Tessa as a toy (no phone service connected). However, she is now busy writing, directing and producing her own movies now. At the same time, Ethan has just started busting out with creativity. Tonight we played a board game that he created. It was actually pretty fun. He needs to do some work on tweaking the battles, but it shows potential. Also, he has been writing stories and working on a book of some kind and then tv scripts for his new show Dr. Einstein/Batman starring the Gingerbread Batman he made for a project last school year.Ryan, well, Ryan is just being cute as he can be tagging along with the others. And Trina is starting to walk. Amazing. A week ago, even if you held her hands and tried to get her to take a step she just wouldn't. On Friday, she just all of a sudden started taking steps. I think her record is seven steps.
An Apology

Hey guys, just wanted to apologize. It has come to my attention that some of the "related posts" links that were automatically generated by someone other than me at the bottom of my blog about talking to kids about sex over on Wordpress pointed folks to inappropriate sites about sex.I have learned how to disable that feature and apologize for the stumbling block that caused anyone. Thanks for reading my blog.

A Different Take on Laodicea and Lukewarm Christianity

I can't remember if I have shared this in the Pleoworld or not. If so, sorry for bringing it up again. If not, then I would love for you all to visit my other blog and comment on my more recent understanding of Laodicea's lukewarmness. How Not to be a Lukewarm ChristianMay God richly bless you as you draw closer to Him.More importantly, may you richly bless God.

Check Out a Post on Modest Dress

I know I posted this on my other blog last week. But I wanted to encourage you to check out a brief lesson on modest dress. Frankly, I think this brief video says more about modest dress than the dozen sermons I've preached over the years.Teach Your Daughter How to DressMay God richly bless you as you draw closer to Him.More importantly, may you richly bless God.

Okay, time for something else

I'm excited to be traveling to Southeast Texas on Monday with some of the brothers from Franklin and the surrounding area. We're heading down to help do some repair work following Hurrican Ike. There was all kinds of flooding down there and some folks are in major need of some drywall work and some repair work. We're going to see how much we can get done in a week. I'm looking forward to it. Although, I'll pretty much just be a gopher 'cause you don't want me remotely touching your drywall work. Trust me on this one.I'll probably not be around on Pleo much next week. So, have fun without me and remember to play nice.May God richly bless you as you draw closer to Him.More importantly, may you richly bless God.

The Right to a Divorce?

How many times have we heard the question asked, "Who has the right to a divorce?" And how many times have we heard the answer, "The one whose spouse committed adultery."I'd like us to step back and reconsider this, looking a little more closely at what the Bible actually says. Frankly, I'm still looking for the verse that gives anyone the right to divorce period. Now don't get me wrong. I understand there is one case in which the Bible suggests a divorce is lawful. I'm just still looking for the verse that says that divorce is a right.A "right" in this sense is that which is due a person or owed to them. Is there a verse anywhere that says the putting away of a spouse is owed to anyone or their due? Actually, there is not. Please, take a look at Matthew 5:32; 19:9 and the parallel passages in the other gospels. None of these verses say, "If your spouse has committed adultery you have a right to put them away." None of them say, "If you...
