Nursery fun

Well, Mom and Dad got Cole this weekend in Tuscaloosa. I really missed him, but on a positive note, I got lots done in Belle's nursery. Over the bed, I put up this black chandelier decal on the wall and it looked great! So, what did I do...I got cocky and decided to try to "free-hand" "Isabelle Marie" in black paint going up the wall to look like the chain on the light fixture. It was a disaster. So, I feverishly kept going over and over it and finally it turned out semi-cute. That night, when Jared got home from work, I said, "Come look at what I did, but don't laugh!" Well, of course, as soon as he saw it, he laid out on the bed dying laughing! I kept hitting him on the arm saying, "STOP LAUGHING", which of course, made him laugh even harder. He was just paying me back because I laughed at him over supper when he was telling me about some of his students and the punishments they received for skipping class. He said, "I never missed class...

That's the day Dr. Harris said he would induce labor as long as I was dilated. I'm going to have Belle home by Halloween! (which is second only to Christmas holiday-wise) He is my new favorite person. I thought I was going to have to go in and fight for it, but he gave in easily. He could teach Jared a thing or two about giving pregnant ladies what they want...

Politics

Yuck. I hate talking about them because I get so flustered and sick at my stomach. Last Friday, we gave a baby shower at work for one of our psychiatrists (sp?) and she got on a roll about how stupid/awful republicans are, etc., etc. One of those. You would think somebody in that line of work would be a little more self-aware...You could just see people getting more and more uncomfortable. I leaned over to another pharmacist I work with who is also going to vote republican and said, "I'm taking the cake (that's what I brought) and leaving!" My friend said, "No, stay and only cut a piece for the Republicans!" ha.

I've been living right!

And you know how I know? (Other than the fact I got a GREAT parking place a work today?)...Well, I have still been searching for my long, lost outfit (Dog with a bone, I know) and today I saw online that the warehouse that manufactures the outfit was having a spring/summer clearance located in Columbus, GA. Guess where I'm working today? That's right, you see where this is headed...I got my outfit for $19.99 when the original price was $68 and the sale price at Cutie Pie was $34! HA!

Happy Birthday, Cole!

My baby is one year old. I'm not even sure how that happened. We had a family party for him Saturday with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme. Most of the family went in on a nice wooden swing set for him. Of course, everyone had to bring him a toy too and like his mom, he learned real quick how to rip into those presents. Then he would say, "Oh wow!" Very sweet. My mom even made him a little outfit that she smocked with a cupcake with one candle. He was precious...Of course, Jared thought it was a little TOO precious. I'll post picts when I get them...

This is Belle. Isn't she cute? I was worried that she might not be as cute as Cole, but she'll be cute to me no matter what!

"Don't try, just do it"

That's what my dad would say every time he told me to do something and I said, "I'll try". In other words, "You're not getting away with that." Well, last week I went to bed with (relatively) good attitudes and (relative) sanity and I woke up the next morning crazy. I had an incident in a kids clothing store that I won't go into because it's too painful, but let's just say that a lady had the last outfit in her hand that I wanted and I almost made a scene and started crying. I called Jared crying, then my dad. They were both very sweet, realizing quickly that I couldn't be reasoned with, and assured me that we would find the same outfit and that mean lady should have given it to you (even though they don't really believe that). I called mom, and she tried to reason with me, saying, "Belle has lots of clothes, just go up and look in her closet". Has the world gone mad? Jared and Dad nail it and mom doesn't? I know full well in my heart that if the same th...

11 years

That's how long I've been married. Saturday night we went to the Auburn Hotel and Conference Center and ate at their restaurant called Aricia. On Sat nights they have a "chocolate bar" (aka. "heaven" to a pregnant lady like myself) and we had a great time. Jared forgot to get me flowers for the second year in a row. Last year I told him "I would have been upset about that earlier in our marriage, but now I know that you love me, so it's okay." Boy, was that not a mistake? It's not like me to drop the ball like that, but what can I say? Don't think he didn't bring that up too..."Last year you told me..." Ha. He said he put it on his calendar for July 2009 - "Get Holly flowers". I can't decide if it's sweet or if it defeats the purpose of flowers? Overall, we've had a great 11 years. I remember the look on his face when he saw me walking down the aisle. He still looks at me that way. (For whatever reason...I know that I could never con ...

Isabelle Marie Johnson

I think this is the name...I hope so since I'm already refering to her as "Belle". I really liked that we knew Cole's name, so when he got here I already felt a little bonded with him. I'm working on the nursery...It's "Paris" themed...pink room with black and red. I'll post pictures when I get it presentable. I'm not dead yet and Jared's already seen the AMEX bill, so maybe I'll make it.
