My feet are killing me!

Probably because I decided to wear very high heels, and have spent the majority of the day dancing around with the kids.Teaching is great! My two schools are great! I have my very own classroom at Temple Terrace Elementary so I'm loving that. Everything at Lutz Elementary school is going well. Other than my swollen feet, I have no complaints!

Grad School, Year 1 (almost) complete!

Well, I'm back in Tampa now, and all I have left of my first year of Grad School is a few papers and a test that are due on August 4th, so I'm trying to work on those before I run out of time.I have a job teaching music at Lutz Elementary (3 days/week) and Temple Terrace Elementary (2 days/week). I'm really excited to get this position for a few reasons, one of being the distance that I'll travel will be significantly less than the 28 miles each way to my job last year! But I guess in the long run, it doesn't matter how far I have to travel to get there, at least I have a job!I move to my new condo on August 1 (my baby sisters birthday!)My first day of work is on August 8Thats about it!

Changes

I have been accepted into grad school! For the next two summers, I will move up to Gainesville and work on my Masters of Music Education. It's a really intense program but I'm ready for the challenge. The best part about it... I don't have to stop teaching! The program was designed for teachers, so I will only have to be on campus for 6 weeks each summer. I should have my degree by December of 2009! The program starts in two weeks and I am so excited to be a part of it! Another thing I'm excited about? School ends for the kids tomorrow and for the teachers on Thursday! Woo! I take the professional education exam on Thursday right after school. Hopefully after that test, I won't have to take any more for certification. I had an interview with a middle school for a Band Director position last Friday, and I have another interview for a Band/Chorus Director next Monday. The interview on Friday went well but no news yet. Hopefully something will open up for me for the fall. S...

Funny how things change!

So I got a job at Boyette Springs Elementary school in Riverview, FL! I've been here a little over a week, and so far I love it! Kid's are very entertaining, and I feel like I have a new story every day about the things that they do. I never thought I'd enjoy teaching elementary school so much! Anyways, everything else is going really well! I'm amazed at how much my life has changed over the past months. I don't think that I have ever been so content! I am truly blessed in every aspect of my life. In other news, I got to go to Duluth, MN for a few days to visit my parents two weeks ago. It was freezing cold! I'm planning on going up again for new years with the rest of my siblings. It'll be a lot of fun, I'm sure. My niece and nephew are growing so big!! They're so cute! I love them...I absolutely can't wait for thanksgiving! That's all for now!

A strange turn in events...

I'm back! How has everyone been? I feel like I haven't been on here in years! So the update on my life... I finished Florida College with my BA in Music, big surprise, and now I am working for a Site development company! That's right! I'm doing nothing involving music... So sad, but I'm planning beginning the certification process in the next few months, and getting a job teaching in January. At this point, I’m excited at the thought of teaching any grade, so I’m not being too particular in which schools I apply to. On the side, I’m playing my harp at a tea room a few Saturdays each month. I would also like to start teach private music lessons (voice, harp, flute and beginning piano) so if anyone on here is wants to learn something new, or wants their kids to get involved with music, let me know! So that’s my work situation. With living, I’m moving into a condo with my sister Sile and her beautiful daughter Kiera in a week, and I am so excited! In case any of you are w...
