Another sunny day in Californ-I-A

I got a newd job. haha. Not really, just a new job. I'll be hostessing at Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen! You can actually check it out online. You know you want to. It's a 10 minute walk from my house, and I'll be learning lots of Spanish. Speaking of Spanish, http://youtube.com/watch?v=a189xAYBRv8Well, the little Fashion Park family is finally complete. Yes, Jess, Christen, Bethany, Daley and I live under one roof, and we all have SUV's. Which does not make for the greatest success in finding a parking spot in the cramped little neighborhood, but it DOES make us way sporty. And cool. (hey, we need all the help we can get.) We laugh so much, it's ridickerous.Last night we played volleyball at the park around the corner from our casa, and it ruled. Christen/Jess v. Beth, Steph, n Kyle (Horst). Besides the glass shards and splinters and the cement just inches underneath the thin layer of sand, it made for an awesome game. I guess that just makes us way hard core. Or just stupid. My fav...

earthshake!!!

Yesterday morning in church there was an earthquake. It shook the pew! I hadn't felt one in a long time so it was kinda exciting. This morning I woke up to another! It felt a little harder this time, and it kinda kept coming, so I laid there in the shaking bed thinking of what I would do if it got bigger. Luckily it just stopped.2 earthquakes in 46 hours! Here's the freaky part: just 3 days ago, a friend told me that a few years before 9/11 they heard that the 3 major disasters most likely to occur in the United States would be:1. A terrorist attack on New York2. A hurricane in New Orleans3. A major earthquake in Southern California.....grrreat.

beach grenades

Last week, within a 24 hour period, an important aspect of my life completely changed. This semester I had planned on living with the incredible Daley Hilburn in the dorms of Pacific Christian College across the street from Cal State Fullerton. When she went to move in early, she discovered that the space we would have to live in was about the same as that of which would be provided for us in an orphanage. Disappointed and dismayed, she ventured to the neighboring apartment complexes to check out the availablity. Luckily, she found a great deal. She called me to break the news and present a solution to the unfortunate situation, and I bought it (the idea, not the apartment). The catch: The apartment is not available until October 13th. We were 2 months without a place to live besides on top of a $100 deposit.....until she called up Donna Prince (Mandy and Greg's madre). God, being the ridiculously AMAZING God He is, worked everything out perfectly. Of course. Here's the story, morn...

Hang loose, Harry Potter!

Ok so get this... Lisa Can u p and Lindsay Singlebutt had free tickets for Jay Leno on the Tonight Show. Lisa got hooked up by an old boss' neighbor's 3rd cousin once removed's gardener's second wife. We stood in the huge line for a bit, and then realized we were supposed to be checking in at Guest Relations. Turns out we're on the VIP list. So we walk past all the people we were standing in line with earlier, (SUCKAS!!) and get led to the FRONT stinkin ROW. Jay, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), and the guy who plays the rat in Ratotuille were all about 15 feet away. So were just chillin, and the security guard on the stage points at me and signals for me to come talk to him. He says, "So, where you girls from?" (I had happened to have decided to be representin Nashville that day)I replied, "Oh, she's from nashville, she's from laguna niguel, and I'm from San Jose." He secretly whispered, "You wanna picture with Jay Leno?"I thought aloud, &quot...

Gonna get back to basics

I have a few seconds to stop and breathe, so I think I'll write a word or two.Things have been a'changin. I have a place to live in Fullerton with Daley Hilburn. Across the street from school, in the dorms of a Christian college. It's cheap man. A rare find in those parts.Went backpacking at Kennedy Meadows for 4 days with brother, dad, and 2 BFs/cousins. One day we hiked up a mile of sheer cliff next to the stream, saw a deer, went about 4 miles across the top of the mountain to some snow. We drank that stuff and also slid down the mountain face on our bottoms. I'll tell you what, it sure was invigorating. Gettin back to camp wasn't as easy cuz we went a different way (the hard one), but we managed. 10 miles roundtrip! We fished, jumped in the freezin cold lake, didn't shower, pumped our own fresh water, and all that kinda fun camping stuff. There was a doe that hung out around our camp every day. She was sweet.I got to see my friend Lindsay in L.A., where we ate pizza and ge...

Thanks to his almost most recent bloggage, I had a dream about rollerblading. The hardest part was actually not telling my parents I was gay, because I was an orphan. It was turning them back in to the rental machine (like a vending machine...for rollerblades). It was a machine that allowed you to demo the new $3,000 Hummer rollerblades. And boy, did I demo those bad boys. I rode 'em all over town, and they were ultra fast. They were kinda scratched when I was done, and I was really nervous that they were gonna make me pay. Cuz the cleaning lady told me they would probably charge me $100 or so for any dammage. So, Rob, you're not gay if you ride expensive Hummer rollerblades. I mean, I wasn't even wearing wrist gaurds....well, ok. maybe you are. and maybe you're even more gay if you dream about them.
