Correcting OthersMatthew 18:15“If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. Sometimes in our lives we encounter our brothers and sisters in Christ succumbing to temptation. This is never easy for us, and it may open us to a myriad of emotions. We may feel betrayed or disappointed. We also may feel angry that they would do such a thing. Sometimes embarassment may enter our thoughts. Whatever it is that we feel, we must remember that as a fellow servant of God we have a certain responsibility to our fellow bondservants. As fellow partakers in God’s great love, our first attitude should be one of love and compassion. The last thing in the world we should desire is for them to be separated from God. Since we know that their sin will do that, we should feel an obligation to help them. That is why we need to go to them and confront them with their sin. By going to them, we are trying to help them renew thei...

Sorry I didn't put this up here last week!Gardendale church of Christ is having a gospel meeting with Kevin Clark. It is every night this week at 7 except Friday. So that leaves tonight, wednesday and thursday. He is an astounding speaker, very encouraging. We have already had a good bit of visitors. I love being in a place where there are so many brothers and sisters in Christ. Very encouraging and uplifting and helps me to be more spiritually minded.

Different, but OneBrotherly Love July 14th, 2008Galatians 3:28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.I have a secret. M&M’s are a little disappointing to me. Do not get me wrong. I will eat them and even enjoy them. But they are always a bit of a let down. You open a bag and you see all these different colors. And yet they all taste exactly the same. A lot of times I will take a particular color and and eat all of them. Yet if I eat them randomly, it does not change the taste even in the slightest. Of course, part of the problem is that I am only a half-way fan of M&M’s. I wish that the variety would make me enjoy some of them more. But alas, they are always the same, no matter what they look like.As Christians, this is an apt analogy for us. It is amazing when you look at the church to see its differences. You have men and you have women. There are all nationalities ...

1. need new roof2. need reliable car with AC3. need money to pay off debt4. need cute gray kitten to replace 'Yesterday'5. need something to pull out these huge ugly bushes in our back yard6. need to find rich friends7. need to paint inside of house8. need new carpet9. need bigger bed10. need to get hair back to original colorOkay...some of those were meant to be funny. Well, at least one.Need, need, need. Some would think I'm needy but I beg to differ,...just destitute. No I'm kidding.Making this list though does remind me that I don't really NEED any of those things. The Lord blesses me more than I deserve including a car, a job and a house. New list:1. need to be more spiritually minded2. need to help and visit the sick and widows and orphans3. need to help with bible classes4. need to be more thankful5. need to be satisfied with what I have6. to study Gods word more and with othersAnything else you can think of that people truly NEED?

Girl that has no life:

This is what I used to describe myself as. I felt that I had a boring and dull life. It started to get 'more eventful' when I got into the Breast Cancer 3 day walk. Then I up and got married. I never imagined married life being so busy. There is ALWAYS something going on, granted not always happy and smooth. Besides having a house to keep up (which is a lot considering we have a decent size house AND yard), I have two amazing munchkins just about every weekend. They really tie up our weekends which is the time most of us ever have time to do anything-like clean, get car repairs done (which happens a lot for us unfortunately), mow the yard, do house repairs (yeah we need a new roof), and mountain climbing...just kidding about that last one.Yeah, so I'm busier than ever. I'm finally starting to get settled in....sorta. I do enjoy it. It gets pretty tiring though. And...I have missed out a lot on spending time with my friends and family-that I haven't enjoyed so much.

> Dr. Harry Emerson Fosdick tells a story from his own childhood days.> His father had said to his mother, upon leaving the house one Saturday in> the morning hours: "Tell Harry that he can cut the grass today, if he feels> like it." Then, halfway down the walk, his father turned once more to add:> "And tell Harry that he had better feel like it."> > A similar story:> > A new elementary school was raising the American flag for the first> time. To make the day special, they had invited a Marine Corps color guard> to come out and perform the duty for them. The day before the ceremony, the> Marine in charge of the unit called to confirm directions to the school.> After doing so, he was asked by the school secretary whether he was sending> Marines who like children. There was a brief pause on the other end of the> line before the man replied, "Ma'am, if I tell them to like children, they> will like chil...
