Buisness Trip

For those of you that didn't know, the last two days, I was in Atlanta, Georgia. I got to visit the Chick-Fil-A corporate offices for a trip called "Vision and Values." We got to see the Truett Cathy's first restaurant the "Dwarf House," where he first invented the chicken sandwich, the first Chick-Fil-A and a ton of other places. We talked about the values that make Chick-Fil-A special. And we got to go to the corporate offices and meet and personally talk to some of the most influential people in the company. I got the cell-phone number of the HEAD of the operator selection committee in case I have any questions, or want help on knowing exactly what they're looking for!Overall it was an amazing experience. I'm so excited to be part of this company.Oh yeah! And at the end, they had 4 caricature artists to draw us and a part of our CFA journey. I loved it, I've been wanting a caricature for a really long time, I think they're cool. So he drew me with balloons, si...

Been so long since I saw this:

I just found this today in a stack of CDs!For those of you that don't know, I won my computer several years ago. I love this story, so I'm going to share it with you. I had decided after my first year of college that my balloon job was going so well that I was going to live in FL over the summer and continue working. I found a friend from school that had a house about 30 minutes away from campus and he offered me to stay with him rent free!Unfortunately, my job only kept me occupied 2-3 nights a week. A blessing while in college, but was killing me of boredom when I had nothing else to do. And for SOME reason, I had it in my head that I had no money. I think now that I did have money, but at the time, I believed I had none. So I didn't eat much. Potatoes, cereal, paper... you know, the usual poor-person's diet.I was driving to try and stay occupied one Saturday morning with my windows down (Because it was summer in Florida, and my car had no AC whatever) and a girl pulled next to...

Junk everywhere

I was leisurely going about my business on my computer, about to reinstall an old game I wanted to play again (Roller Coaster Tycoon) when my computer told me "I'm sorry, you don't have enough space on your hard drive for that."Let me tell you.. I was shocked.I have a 300 Gigabyte hard drive - and I had 5 gigs free.So be proud. I've been searching the nooks and crannies of my hard drive deleting things I installed on a whim three years ago. I'm proud to say, I have nearly 100 gigs free again. After installing my game!I've always said, you'll max out whatever you have. I remember my first computer with it's upgraded 32 KBs of memory, and its 8 gig hard drive. I filled that thing up and it lasted me well.Give a shout if you have more useless junk than you need on your computer too!

Chick-Fil-A

Customers FirstWorking TogetherContinuous ImprovementPersonal ExcellenceStewardship“To be America’s best quick-service restaurant. To be a positive influence on everyone that comes in contact with Chick-Fil-A. To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that has been entrusted to us.”These are the Core values and the corporate mission statement of Chick-Fil-A. That being said, what other company could I ever work for? This will come as a surprise to everyone but a few co-workers, and my wife who's always supported me through my indecision about my career; but I have decided to make Chick-Fil-A my career. I’ve talked a lot to my operator and general manager and they are as excited about this as I am. They’re been pushing me through the ranks since I got there, and the plan is for me to be Assistant Unit Director (fancy name for Assistant General Manager) by September. My long term goal is to own my own store. Because of this goal, I have changed my major to Buis...

Today..

..was awesome! No particular reason, either. I woke up at 5am, showered, grabbed a quick bite and got to work by 6am. When I arrived, I was informed that two people had called out sick (bad news for us trying to do four people's work with only two people). However, we did it! We made it through the day (smoother than normal, actually) and I had a smile on my face every minute. I don't know what it was, but everything was great, despite everything going wrong!I think it was due to the quote I heard yesterday:"Every day, good or bad, is a gift from God."How can you have a sour outlook on life when you really realize that you don't deserve it anyways?Hope you have as good a day as I did!!P.S. I just ate ice cream with hot fudge, so my day just got even better.

Keeping in touch

Well. Since quitting my Tuesday balloon job an hour away I've lost those two hours in which I usually called people to catch up. I've been missing that. So, in an effort to reestablish connections, and keep more up to date with you all, I have decided to retire my old name and create a real user.Hope to talk to you all soon.
