Update: Good News!

I had a Dr's appt today and am officially off of bedrest! She was very hopeful that I would not go into preterm labor. We are still to remain cautious and I have been instructed to "take it easy" and not do any lifting, housework etc for at least the next 10wks or so. While I am not that heartbroken about the whole housework thing it is harder than you would think to just "let things go". However, just thinking back on last week's scary episode is enough to make me comply. I couldn't end this post without thanking everyone for all the prayers offered up on my behalf. We have also been overwhelmed with support in the way of watching the girls and meals. I am going to have to step my cooking up a notch now that Kevin has had a taste of all these good meals! Seriously though, everyone has been so generous and we are very very appreciative of all the help and encouragement we have received.

with privilages...

Yesterday was kinda crazy. I went in to see my OB yesterday afternoon because I had some spotting. She told me that I had dialated to a 1 but that could be a "third baby thing". As we were going to the sonogram room to get a better look at everything I began to bleed ALOT. Seriously it was ALOT. They did a quick sonogram before sending me to the hospital across the street. The bleeding was not from my placenta which was good news and from the looks of my cervix I am not at high risk for preterm labor. They were still baffled as to what was causing that amount of bleeding and even more concerned that it hadn't ceased at that point. At the hosptial they hooked me up to an IV for fluids and basically just monitored me. I began having teeny tiny contractions so they gave me pain medicine to sort of calm everything down. I think it took 30 seconds for those to kick in :) The bleeding and contractions were gone by this morning so I am back home on bedrest for now. Bedrest...

I was worried I was going to have to wait in line forever. My mom said she had to wait over an hour. Turns out not many people knew about the location at the fire training academy so I didn't have to wait at all : )

Movement!

Yesterday afternoon while working on the computer I felt the baby move! It is a few weeks earlier than I felt the other two so it was a sweet surprise. Next milestone is finding out the gender. Can't wait!

Hawkeye

I was in the kitchen making the girls something to eat this weekend when I hear something hit the window in our living room. It scared me to death! I didn't know if someone was in our backyard or what, it sounded huge though. I peaked back there only to see feathers flying and a beautiful but confused hawk standing on a lawn chair. Although his tail feathers looked a bit crooked he seemed to be fine. I was a little surprised that he wasn't dead considering the force of his crash into our window. He looked at me and then flew off like it didn't even happen. How strange.....

Weekend in Oklahoma

We had a great time at Beaver's Bend National Park. It was nice to get away for a few days. My poor city girls finally had a chance to see some new things. Although we stayed in a fully equiped air conditioned cabin they were still able to sit around a campfire and taste their first smores. They also saw some deer, threw a million rocks into the creek, and got up close and personal with a friendly racoon. I think he would have waltzed right into the cabin if I would have let him!

kinda cool

A few days ago I received an email from an old friend. My mother met her parents while still pregnant with me and we lived on the same street until we moved off to college. Even though we don't see each other often we always manage to keep in touch and pick up where we left off. She called just the other day saying she was in DC working with the republican campaign. Anyway back to the email I mentioned at the beginning: She emailed to say that she has just accepted a position as Palin's personal aide! I thought that was kinda cool! She said they have been great to work with so far. I am dying to call her but I can only imagine how busy she must be. I am so proud of her. A little small town girl from Red Oak Texas working next to the VP nominee!

Preschool

Reese and Rylee had thier first day of preschool today! Reese was such a big girl. She was dressed and ready to go before I even knew she was out of bed. Rylee was fine until I left the classroom. It wasn't pretty. You know when the teacher politely says your daughter has a good set of lungs that its bad. Of course she was fine after a few minutes. When I walked in to pick her up she had her hand in a bag of cheetos from another boys lunch. Looks like she had already helped her self to quiet a few since she had cheese dust all over her mouth and hands. I guess she didn't care for the graham crackers I had provided : )

and a side of some fruit of the Spirit

Yesterday afternoon I was working on some chicken for dinner when Reese asked me what we were going to have with it. I tell her "Why don't you pick out a vegetable?" She thinks for a moment and says "I want some carrots and some fruit of the Spirit". At least I know where to find the ingredients : )
