Laziness..

Laziness has settled in quite nicely the last month or so. I was lazy and packed the day before I left Kansas. The thought of my packing antics still make me want to giggle. Although I was quite ready to be out of my car after the very long trip, I rather enjoyed my little road trip and would like to do it again sometime (with less stuff crammed in the car, of course). I unpacked the day after I arrived (pretty much) and now I have been doing very little. I should be studying for my Praxis test that is on Saturday or probably doing some other thing that currently slips my mind (like forcing them to find me a school placement), but alas, here I sit. I think I'm in the mind frame of enjoying the sleep, peace and quite before life gets hectic.I've settled into my new home for the next few months. I was surprised to see that Vanessa had taken on organic, martha stewart tendencies since becoming a mom. We'll bond over sewing, bread baking, and purchasing foods without additives an...

Bucket List...

So most people start making resolutions around this time of year. I decided I'd get started on my bucket list. If you don't know what I'm talking about you need to rent a movie called the "Bucket List" with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. It was a good movie. So, here's my list in no particular order....1. Climb Kilimanjaro2. Learn how to milk a cow 3. See the Mona Lisa at the Louvre4. Learn to Salsa Dance5. Write a children's book6. Ice skate on a pond7. Learn conversational Spanish8. Walk on fire... as in coals, not actual fire..haha9. Run a half marathon10. Learn to fly a plane11. Go for a hike in the Rain forest12. Go white water rafting13. Stay in the Ice Hotel in Sweden14. Volunteer at the Mefou National Park in Cameroon 15. See the Northern Lights in Norway16. Walk on the Great wall of China17. Create a piece of furniture18. Build a Habitat for Humanity Home19. Photograph animals in their natural habitat (think African safari or the ...

If you don't know me very well, I am a germ-a-phobic. I recently was thrilled to find out that I had caught strep from the kids that I babysit. Well of course that meant google search (because google is my life). **So one myth I found... after you start antibiotics you aren't suddenly not contagious after 24 hours, but rather... just less contagious (that's probably how I got this in the first place).**Allegedly Apple Cider Vinegar is the end all to everything. According to one person on a website it can get rid of strep if you gargle 1/4 of a teaspoon in 8 oz of water. I bought some just to make sure ;) (Don't ever ingest it straight as the acid will damage your tooth enamel, esophagus, stomach, etc, etc.**Did you know that staph and strep bacteria is everywhere? It only becomes a problem when your immune system is down or it's overloading you. **Alcohol is my new best friend... luckily it doesn't taste bad (as I've been soaking my toothbrush in it to kill the strep th...

What to do, what to do...

I'm not exactly sure what to do with myself. I have SO many non-school things to do before I leave town. I was planning on having a very busy week due to Christmas parties, meetings, school, subbing and babysitting. But, it's Monday and I didn't get called to sub (which is pretty odd). Plus, the kids that I'm watching are slowly getting strep, so instead of going over there, I've been told to stay away. I, of course, will now think that I have it, even if I wasn't around the ones who do have it. My mind is a funny thing. But, I must not waste my day (as I have the past few days that I've had no work to do)! Luckily, my huge paper is done. Now I just need to make a list and start checking things off. I need to write a letter for school, send out christmas cards, run some errands, pull out and put up the christmas decorations, make a couple of snacks/desserts for this week of get-togethers, take down some wallpaper, and quilt, quilt, quilt! Yeah, I know you don't really care.....

i'm an idiot...

Well I've had quite a few "I'm an idiot" moments in my life, but today was kinda funny. Ever since I moved back to Kansas I've had brief moments of "where did that go." Most of them I just tossed to the wind of my craziness when I moved and packed all my stuff in TN. In my free spirit mood I gave away a TON of stuff... some of which I wish I had back now. Well today I was looking for a nice sweater that my dad had bought for me a few Christmas's ago. It was no where to be found... I KNEW I didn't give it away. So, then began my search. I found a very large tub in my mom's closet downstairs with several winter items. I'm now wondering if I should scour all the basement boxes in search of some other things I've been missing (and wishing I still had).I also straightened my hair a different way... and now it's sticking up in the front. Just in time for my christmas party. Oh well, I wonder if anyone will notice :)♥

procrastination...

I currently despise school. I have no motivation to do anything! I typically don't get motivated until the night before something is due. Currently I understand logically that that is a very stupid idea. "Why?" you ask? Well, I have a 25 page paper due on Monday. I think I have possibly written 6-8 pages. I don't really want to write anymore... actually I should be writing it right now since I'm not working again today :pIt's amazing how many other things I can find to do other than my homework."If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done." ~Author Unknown♥

busy is relative...

so i just read the 2nd book in the Twilight series in less than 24 hours. Yes, I'm insane. The last time I read a book over 400 pages that quickly was the last book of the Harry Potter series. I guess I must admit it finally. I usually like children's literature much better than adult literature. I wonder what that means. So far, my favorite author is Katie DiCamillo. I suggest you google and go to the library. :) I told my friend NOT to give me the 3rd one until after the weekend. It's a very addictive book. If I have it, I will feel the need to read it until I'm finished. I'm hoping to write a little bit of my 25 page paper instead while I'm waiting. So far, that hasn't happened. But I have some faith for Sunday afternoon...Oh well :p♥p.s. I think i'm getting sick... blah!

Busy, Busy

It is the season of being busy. I haven't been a very good student like I had planned at the beginning of the semester. I have senioritis REALLY bad and really don't want to do anything. Which has added to my horrible procrastination. So I have a lot to do in the next few weeks as far as projects, papers, and other homework goes. So I'm currently trying to keep myself busy.I've also started nannying for a family with 8 kids. The days are easy! I only have the 1 and 2 year old. But today I'm going to do my first duty of all the kids at one time with no parents. I'm also going to be tutoring the 5th grader. I have been trying to prepare for this, but have realized that I don't know his problem... so how can I get ready with games, activities, etc. Oh well, we'll see how it goes today. We'll be making a volcano. I'm kind of looking forward to it, I've never made a volcano before! :)Last, I must get started on my Christmas gifts. I rarely buy gifts anymore, usually due to...

So, today I had two interviews. They reminded me why I got out of retail. I went in for the first one at Maurices right on time. The manager had forgotten I was coming in. So the poor assistant manager had to ask me (I think about 5 over a 30 minute period) questions in the middle of checking out customers, a special runway show thing, etc, etc. But in reality, it wasn't really an interview and I'll have to come back. I kind of understood the wait due to there only being one person there.THEN, I went for my Target interview... arg! They didn't have me on their interview list. But they let me have an interview anyway... after about 30 minutes someone FINALLY came and took me back for my ridiculous silly question interview. On a side note, I had completely forgotten about the silly questionnaire that the managers have to ask you in a huge corporate company like Target, so I'm sure I sounded like a highschooler. On the way back for the interview I was asked if I had to wait th...

Job hunting...

This years subbing hasn't been very productive. So I'm currently looking for some work. Luckily the economy around here is pretty good, so today I went an applied at several retail places for second income. BUT, if anyone around here knows of any more paying gigs. I'll currently do pretty much anything for money. I need to build up my savings for next semester :( FYI when I say anything, I mean it! I've worked in factories, retail, photo labs, coffee shops, offices, etc. Help! :)Tonight: Doing something with the 80 lbs of pears that are still on my table...♥
