SNOW AND COLD: MOST AND LONGEST COLD SPELL FOR 47 YEARS IN NW WASHINGTON. OR SO WE HAVE HEARD

We have never had cold temps and snow to stay around so long since we've been in the NW. It began to rain yesterday, and we were glad to see it. I know, I know, we don't have winter weather like back in the frozen north of Wisconsin, so not to complain. However, we are not used to this much snow and cold because Puget Sound surrounds us. The cities don't have snow removal equipment to keep up with what we've had, so we've been driving around on rutted ice streets. Y'all can have it, we'll take this balmy weather we're having now!!HAVE A HAPPY AND BLESSED NEW YEAR!!

Visits with the Smith clan was great, but the greatest time was surprising Melia, Denny, Rebecca, Rachel and Raina. Also, was so glad we got to celebrate Rebecca's 15 B.D. with all of the family that was there.See Melia's post for more details. We saw 6 of our classmates from 50 years ago at F.C. That was an added bonus.

Okay, "better late than never" - 8 interesting (?) facts about self, as if anyone is interested! I really didn't want to do this, but to please my favorite daughter:

#1 - grapes must be eaten from top of cluster down - not a grape here and another there, etc.#2 - toilet paper must be put on the "holder" with paper hanging on the outside (front) of the roll instead behind (back) of the roll; get the picture?#3 - order of putting on socks and shoes: must put on right sock and shoe and then left sock and shoe.#4 - Yes, dark chocolate is best.#5 - When eating a whole apple, must eat bites across the apple (stem to stern) not around the middle and then stem and blossom end.#6 - dark meat of turkey and chicken is best.#7 - fried okra is one of my favorite foods.#8 - can't stand to have the back of my neck lightly touched.Bonus # 9 - can't stand to see a picture crookedly hanging on a wall.(Ok, what's the deal with food anyway? 5 of 9 items.)

We saw the game on TV, and now we've seen Melia & Dennis' pictures. The Dallas gladiators did good: first time to win in enemy territory. Did you get the idea that M&D had fun?!
