1 more week until relief

I am SOOO ready for this semester to be over with!! My online classes have kept me so busy and occupied that I can't stand it! John and I have had to forego doing some things all because I have homework. We have missed out on adventures and some meetings with friends and fellow Christians all because of my school work. It seems that almost any time we are asked to go do something or John asks if I want to go do something, I usually have to reply with, "sorry-I have homework!" On top of that, I have been working on doing 40 hours of TCLEOSE (my police officer license) CE hours before this Saturday so that I don't completely lose my license I worked so hard to get 5 1/2 years ago. Plus, I still have a research essay for my English class that was due 4 weeks ago! Oh - and I still haven't sent out thank you cards to everyone who sent us wedding gifts.....oh yeah one more thing....I still haven't uploaded all of our wedding and honeymoon pics for everyone to see....and I'm ...

John and Angela's first Thanksgiving 2008

So this was John's and my first Thanksgiving together as a married couple!! It was very exciting! He had to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 24 hours each day so we weren't able to go out of town or anything with my in-laws or his in-laws. But, we were totally fine with it because we wanted to have our first Thanksgiving to be private. Despite all my nervousness of cooking, it turned out very well. You see, neither one of us has EVER cooked a Thanksgiving meal before. I've cooked many dinners period. But never a turkey and never a Thanksgiving meal. Same with him. So this was a whole new experience for both of us. After receiving advice from many many people, I felt a bit overwhelmed and thought it was going to take me a week to cook and get it all right.Since John worked Tuesday and Wednesday and didn't get off work til 7AM THursday morning, I figured I would get a headstart. I stayed up until about 5:15AM on Thursday. I went to sleep for about an hour and a half, wok...

Mas computer

.....pero mucho homework and getting ready for this weekend! So I was without a computer for a few days...it felt kinda good because I didn't have to rely on technology. But, I also couldn't get on to take care of homework or do planning. Since John and I are about to get married and I really needed a computer for my online classes, we decided to make our first "big buy" together and bought a computer yesterday. I love it!! It's very nice and wasn't too terribly expensive! I had to put it on my credit card though. I was stressed about the money, but this is something we both really need and I know that God will find a way for us to where we won't have to struggle financially. Instead of taking full-time courses next semester again, I may end up going part-time and getting a part-time job for a little bit....at least until we can get settled and all that.Anyway,it's been a very long week with planning and I still have more homework to do before Saturday! Crazy week!...

No mas computer

My second and last computer finally decided to give out on me so I am without a computer for a while. Not too sure how well that will pan out since all of my classes are online. This will be interesting. Anyway, I probably won't be online for a while....not having a computer PLUS John and I are finally getting married this week!!!!! We will see most of you Wednesday, God willing. But, won't see ya'll for a little while because we will be leaving for our honeymoon after the wedding. Dominican Republic here we come!Hopefully we'll have a new computer soon. See ya'll soon.Love,Future Mrs. Young

Things and such

Just an update on how things have been going. Everything has been very mad crazy busy! :-) Juggling school and wedding plans at the same time is a lot harder than I expected. Plus adding in regular daily life. Anyway, there are only 10 days left until John and I finally get married! We're both very excited but also a bit nervous because we don't know what marriage is going to be like exactly. We don't know what it will feel like and all that but we can't wait to experience it and spend the rest of our lives together.Just a note I wanted to share with everyone to answer a question we've been asked by some: We would love to have EVERYONE attend our wedding because we would love to share this joyous occasion with all of you. But, because of the ridiculous amount of money that weddings cost, we had to cut back on the amount of people we could invite. Our wedding is actually going to be very simple - we didn't want all the thousands of details that tend to cause stress. But even ...

3 weeks

Im 3 weeks I will no longer bear the last name of a boring color! I will bear the last name of a wonderful characteristic that I will get to keep for the rest of my life! :-) Even better is that I get to keep the man associated with that last name forever! I didn't realize how long this could drag on until our wedding day! We are both ready and can't wait to join in a Christian marriage! :-) Please continue to pray for our happiness and our continued focus on God.

Kaizen

October 7“Kaizen”“…but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ.” (Ephesians 4:15)Life in general is about growth, and life in Jesus Christ is about growth toward the perfection of His character. Much of the happiness and joy that are available to us can only be ours if we know that we’re making progress in the direction of godly character and conduct. When we give in to the forces of evil “inertia,” we fail to move ahead, and the result is that we stagnate. Eventually, our choice becomes a choice between improvement and death. There is really no other option. The Japanese word KAIZEN refers to the concept of “continuous improvement over time.” This concept is a part of what has made so many Japanese businesses successful, and it has made these businesses a model of effectiveness for corporations around the world. “Kaizen” says that while we may not “get it perfect” on the first attempt, what we ...

Shauna tagged me...all the way from West Virginia!!!!!

Ok I really don't know how this works. All I know is that Shauna tagged me and that I have to post 8 random things about myself.....so here it goes....1) I RE-HEEEEEELY love John and am trying to learn how to be patient for our wedding day to get here.2)I REALLY love anything that involves adrenaline (caving, swimming in swift moving water, rock climbing, rappelling, sky diving, bungee jumping). Who woulda guessed that about me?!3) I'm a major perfectionist and that can be good and bad. When things don't go exactly how I planned, I can get major anxiety. But, I'm learning how to get over that and roll with the punches!4) I really enjoy studying God's Word and sharing it with others.5) I've moved around 20 times in my life (most of which occurred after the age of 18).6) If I don't workout for several days, I feel horrible and feel like a big bloated whale!7) One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone is extremely judgmental or close-minded (a "I'm right, you're ...
