*Whew*I signed on today and there was, like, 15 seconds where I didn't have Gold! *involuntary body shakes*There were all these foreign things on the screen, like something for baby products and I couldn't leave a comment and see what I was writing after one sentence. It was...it was...horrible. *shudders*I know, I know! I didn't realize my subscription was out.I fixed it ASAP. Angry Turnip got my $18 and now I am back to Gold*hands are still shaking*That was close. *phew*breathe Jess, breathe.
Saw it on Friday

I will say it again. Daniel Craig = Best James Bond Ever.Quantum of Solace was awesome! The openeing credits were my favorite Bond Opening ever, and I love the song. But really, I'll keep it this short and just say that, If 007 wants your motorcycle, then 007 gets your motorcycle. :-)make your own judgement as to whether or not you want to see this, but I had a good time at the show.

You know, I think that I can type my username and password faster than I can type my real name, including the motion with the tab key. There is something wrong with that.............Anyway, I loved reading what the closest book to everyone was in the last entry. It tells me who was at home and who was at work! And it is telling that there were SEVERAL of you who had a Bible near you. ....................Chicken Thursday was a big success last night. I made Salsa Chicken (taco seasoning sprinkled on top of the chicken and then salsa poured all over it. Bake for 25-30 minutes, sprinkle some cheese on top and there you have it!) I also made Spanish rice and quesadillas as sides. It was pretty good! ...................In other news:Christmas List:Dad - checkMom - half way doneBBG - checkAllison - have an idea, haven't gotten it yetJosh - NO CLUE (give me a list hoser!)Terra - have an idea, haven't gotten it yetJill - checkNick - have an idea, haven't gotten it yet...

Grab a Book

Saw this on Facebook and really liked it. Please play along. (You may edit if you feel it is necessary.)Grab the nearest book. Open the book to page 56. Find the fifth sentence. Post the text of the next two to five sentences here. Don’t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one - pick the CLOSEST:From Business Decisions That Changed Our Lives: "That's a catchy way to approach it. But what happened was this: as war spread over Europe, and as America keyed up its defense efforts, the Federal Housing Administration wrote Section 603 into its regulations, and the War Production Board set priorities on private housing. Four months after Pearl Harbor, the War Production Board stopped all private construction not serving essential war needs, and a month later, in May 1942, Section 608 was added to teh National Housing Act to stimulate the contrusction of low-cost rental housing for war workers."copyrighted 1964

Parental coolness, weddings and neck wear

You know, it's cool when you knowhow strong and amazing your parentscan be and then they do something so other people can see what you've known for a long time and you justsit back and go, "Yep. That's mymom and dad." It's nice when you canbe proud of your parents. In other news:Went to a wedding this weekend. Thierlittle sister got married. She is my SIL's youngest and my brother's SIL. Sometimes in-lawship can be confusing to outsiders.Anyway, I've known the bride for about 12 years now? Yeah, that sounds right. I liked the wedding, it was pretty and had a real 1940's air to the place because itwas in a train station ball room. I dug it.And I forgot to charge my camera, so no pics.At the reception I sat with my niece as well as her two ADORABLE kids Mal and Sam.And I have been to all four of the sisters' weddings. All four were different. The eldest Terra (my SIL and his wife) was in a large church. The second, Tami was outside with a tent rece...

Chicken Thursdays

Ok, so I can't cook. It is a talent that has alluded me for years and years now and I am not going to take it anymore! So I have implemented "Chicken Thurdays". It is where I bake a new chicken dish once a week. I would rather bake it than fry or grill, and I am ok with having chicken once a week. Maybe later I will endevour into other meats, but baby steps people! With the new chicken dish every Thursday comes different sides. And I experiment on BBG. So far he has NOT minded at all.So, this is only my third week with this.My first week was a simple lemon pepper chicken with a baked potato, mixed veggies (NO lima beans, of course) and french bread.Last week I got slightly more adventurous with a Pesto Parmesan Chicken dish that went over VERY well. I made mashed potatoes, snap peas and carrots and sweet italian bread. This week is Honey Sesame Chicken. Since this will be very easy, I am going to make fried rice (which I know i can make, because I've done it before) ...

ok, now what?I don't fully trust ANY politician,But I fully trust in God.In other news:I met Gayle Sayers today. He is doing a taped interivew here at Allstate. He does a lot for one of the myriad of volunteer programs here.My office is right across the hall from the A/V department. So I got to meet a two time All-American, NFL Rookie of the Year, former Chicago Bear. I thought it was pretty cool. He's not a hulking guy, but he DOES command your attention with his demeanor. In a good way. :-)My dad is gonna think this is kinda cool too.

Didn't think I would talk about voting today, but this was worth it.

My mom told me something that a sub at her school told her. This sub is a new American, who came from an African country. My mom couldn't remember which one he said.Anyway, he told her that in his country on election day, the polls were outside and there were scores of people in line waiting to take part in the democratic process. From the jungle and down the mountainside came jeeps full of guerrilla soldiers and as they passed, started spraying their machine guns at the voters. The voters fell to the ground and covered their heads as the soldiers drove by, continuing to shoot at them.Thankfully nobody was killed and when the soldiers left, the voters stood up...and not a single person left that line until after they voted. The sub told mom that there was no reason he was not going to vote today.Got a cold? Not feeling well?Don't think your vote "will count"?Don't want to stand in long lines?be thankful. Also, I am very proud of BBG...he drove all night ...
