I love this time of year. Our family is very big on traditions and this time of year is full of them. This year is bittersweet for me... this will be my daughter's last Christmas at home. I look forward to her and Kyle continuing in our traditions and beginning their own. It will be an exciting time for them. But not having my little girl in her room next year might be hard. ;) Ryan & MeganHappy Holidays!!!Denise

Things to consider...

I read this on another blog and thought it had some excellent points. Please consider these guidelines when determining whether a practice is right or wrong. 1. The Personal Test: Will doing this make me better or worse? 2. The Social Test: Will doing it influence others to be better or worse? 3. The Practical Test: Will the result of my doing it be desirable? 4. The Universal Test: If everyone should do this, would it improve or degrade society? 5. The Scriptural Test: Does the Bible endorse it, or is it expressly forbidden by the Word of God? 6. The Stewardship Test: Will my doing this constitute a waste of talent God gave me? 7. The Character Test: What will be my moral and spiritual influence? 8.The Family Test: Will it bring discredit and dishonor to my family? 9. The Influence Test: Would I be willing for friends and fellow Christians to know about it? 10. The Fairness Test: Is it honest, and is it practicing the Golden...

Blake and RyanMy boy turned 19 today. It just seems like yesterday he was a baby. Time has flown by much too quickly. He has grown in so many ways and has become a wonderful young man. He has a bright future and I wish him all the happiness he deserves.

A year later...

It has been almost a year since I have updated. So much has happened... Megan and Kyle (her boyfriend of 5+ years) are engaged. The wedding is set for August 7, 2009. The planning has already begun.Megan graduates May 10th. from U of L Dental School as a Hygienist. She hopes to have a job lined up as soon as she gets her board results. She has already been offered a job, we'll just have to see if it works out.Ryan has completed his first year at IUS. He is still undecided about his major, but is leaning toward a Business degree with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Computer Science. He hopes to complete his MBA later. I am working about 20 hours a week with Dale. I enjoy spending the time with him since the children no longer need me at home :( It has made the transition a lot easier for me.Denise

Life changes so quickly...

I never thought my years of homeschooling would end so soon. It seems like I only began yesterday. But, as of June 9, 2007 I am officially retired as a homeschool mom. Megan will be starting her last year of college this fall and Ryan will begin his first. Where did the time go????So...I guess I move on to a new phase in my life and I hope it is as fulfilling as the past 14 years have been.Denise
