Ok, so it is "Random Act of Kindness Week" at WVU. Question: can it really be...random...if you...plan...a week for it? Uh...Hey, I'm going to randomly do something nice for you, but only because it is random act of kindness week. Otherwise, I'm not doing anything nice for you...Uh...

January 2009

To start out the year (and because one of our Bible is laid out in this manner), Laura and I have decided to work our way through the Bible. Last year, I managed to pick up a Bible that is laid out in very manageable segments for daily readings. If anyone is interested, I will try to post what those day readings are each day (or several days in a row).Daily Bible Readings:Genesis 1:1-2:25; Matt. 1:1-2:12; Psalm 1:1-6; Proverbs 1:1-6

The life and times of a small red squirrel

So, I'm sitting at the Dibbell's kitchen table and doing some work on the computer. I've been sitting here for a little over an hour and the whole time there has been four squirrels (two large grays and two small reds) eating out of a bird feeder that sits on their picnic table just outside the door. The two larger squirrels disappeared a little while ago, but the red ones have hung around.Well, as I was reading something, I noticed an awful lot of commotion going on outside the window. What was it? A hawk had flown down and tried to grab one of the small red squirrels off of the top of the bird feeder! Somehow it missed the squirrel (both of which ran and hid in the drain pipe below the table) and then flew off (the bird, not the squirrel) into the woods. All of this less than ten feet from where I am sitting.I just thought that was cool.
